Sunday
Today I am moved by the verse that Becky left for us in her Trust In the Lord cubit. It reads:
“The Lord who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you." Isaiah 43:1-2

It makes me think of Jon and his family in Japan, who are still going through so, so much. Yet his spirit stays pretty steady. Cubit members have been a great source of encouragement to him and his family, through donations and by the sending of care packages, and simply by speaking words of encouragement. I wonder if dave and Trish know what a very special resource Cubits has now become to people all over the globe.

I have thought that this week rather than post each day in a separate thread, I'd let one thread continue for a whole week. I'm doing it for mostly selfish purposes, as I don't come here every day to post. Shame on me!

Today is the day to renew your spirit. It is also, for some folk, Passion Sunday or Palm Sunday. My spirit has been renewed and I am ready to take on the week! But first, some time out while I watch today's NASCAR race at Talladega! Later on, we'll have brunch for supper as it was Miss Morgan's turn to choose supper. Her menu is for pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs! I can deal with that!

Later!

Yes! He is so good! All of my friends are safe.

Monday
I'm going to try something new with my routine today. I'm going to try going REALLY slowly. Usually on Mondays I try to do to much and then I end up spending the rest of the week recovering. So, today, I'm just going to 'putter around and flit from small task to small task like a beautiful spring butterfly. I'll take lots of time to pause and rest up for the next task - just as a butterfly would do.

I've just finished vacuuming the kitchen, so now it's rest up time. You know what's going to be fun this week? The kiddos are out of school for their spring break, so I get to spend some quality time with them.

Daily TA DA
Our task for this week is to pamper our Master Bedrooms. I thought it would be fun to treat this room just like it was a person, and do things that would make it feel good. Today, we are going to change the bed linens, after we flip the mattress. It's Spring! When we think of turning over our gardening beds, we should think about turning over our mattress, too!

It's going to be a wonderful week.
Happy Monday!!

Monday Afternoon

So, strangely enough, my plan to just flutter here and there doing my Monday chores seems to have worked out very well! I actually got more done! There's still a lot to do, but I'm not stressing about it. My body does not hurt at 3 pm as it usually does by this time on most Mondays.

Here's what I've accomplished:
Showered and dressed to shoes
Coffee and breakfast
Washed the dishes
Washed the kitchen table

Answered a slew of emails
Sent a copy of a mutual ancestor to a genealogy friend
Swished & Swiped the downstairs bathroom - in stages
Actually got to swish & swipe the upstairs bathroom - in stages

One load of laundry, although it still has to be folded and put away
The kitchen floor swept and washed
The living room dusted and polished
I turned my mattress and put fresh sheets on the bed - Today's mission

Washed and shined the coffee pot
Cleaned the electric can opener blades
Washed some of the kitchen drawer fronts (I don't think that could have waited another few weeks!)
Washed one kitchen window

The chicken has been thawed - on schedule today!
The little ones got picked up early today, so I can actually put my feet up for half an hour.

And, I did it S-L-O-W-L-Y!

Happy me!

Good job Candyce. I spent the day on the road again!! We both had eye Dr appts in Derry (50 miles away) and then birthday lunch with my brother and wife and his wife. Then I dropped off two quilts to the friend who does the long arm quilting and then shopping at Sam's and then home. I'm in the middle of a one hour rest and then it's off to my daughter's for another birthday dinner!!!!! That makes three dinners for one birthday!!!!! Some people hae all the luck.
Found out from the eye dr that I need cataract surgery so I have consult appt May 2nd. Hope it is not a long drawn out affair. I'm looking forward to vacation in Aug. Don't want to be without my eyes!!!!
Hope this finds all well. Praying for all those in harms way be it in service or weather related or anything else. Love you all~~~~~

Goodness, Barb! There's so much going on in your life. I'm so sorry about the cataract surgery possibility. Please keep us posted about the consultation, OK?

Who's birthday was it that you were able to enjoy all those fantastic birthday dinners? It sounds like you had a wonderful time with family. But, to throw a trip to Sam's in there too, you must be exhausted!

Keep up the good thoughts everybody! It's Tuesday!

Norm's b'day was Sunday!!! We spent most of the day with friends up in Sunapee because not one of the kids called to see what his plans were for his day. . Couldn't understand and was a bit miffed with them. Not one of them called or made plans to visit. Come to find out our daughter had told them all it was on Monday so noone else looked at a calendar!!!! That will teach them! Anyway, last night was great for him and he got to talk with all and had a great time...
I'm not too concerned about the surgery Candyce. Cataract surgery has become very common and has been done for a long time now. My surgeon is a specialist in it and I'm not worried. Just wish it was over!!! I guess I have to wait a while and then the other eye needs to be done too. This kind of explains why I have been having such a hard time reading Xstitch charts and the like. I'm only using one eye!!!! Legally blind in the other one!!! Explains why it takes me forever to post and then read all my typing mistakes to correct them too!!!!
Off to get some laundry started. Have a great day everyone~~~~~~

Sorry to hear about the eye problems and aches & pains. I guess it's to be expected at our ages. I must admit, I am doing NO housework. It's very relaxing and I will be in the mood for housework when I get back home next week.

I bought an Easter dress for the first time in years and will wear it to church Easter Sunday with my girls. I have gotten rid of so many old clothes and I don't even miss them. I am a bit lazy about trying to find some new ones. I'm not the shopper I used to be.

Tuesday:

I love your 'less is more' attitude, Arlene. And Barb, any kind of surgery scares me, just so you know.

I'm spending a rather quiet day (call it another overcast day) here. I got the Morning Routine all done by 8:30, and ever since then I've just been puttering and fluttering here and there, with a long break in between the 'here' and the 'there'. It worked so well for me yesterday that I thought I'd try it again today. Why is it, I wonder, that I seem to get so much more done when I 'work' this way? LOL!

I figure that I know where all of the important things are:
I know where each of the children are and what they are doing
I know what's for dinner
I know where my car keys are, in case I need them
I know where my emergency phone list is, in case we have a bad case of something here

So, everything's covered, and I can put my feet up for a while. Think I'll go warm up a cuppa.

Another dreary day for us Candyce. Lord how I'd love just a bit of sun now and then. It would do so much for my outlook and energy level. When the sun doesn't smile, neither do I and it makes me feel so tired too.....
Went to a quilt block class this morning so I now have another block to make. I'm thinking maybe That's what I need to perk me back up. So I'm off to get it done...

There was snow in Iowa yesterday and DH stayed home from work due to the icy roads. Ugh! By the time I return home next week, the weather should be better.

Tomorrow I go to visit another friend and then Friday we go to San Diego . . . week end fun.

Arlene and Vic - sounds like fun all around for you two. The sun is actually shining for a while this morning. I feel like a little kid just peeking out the window. Of course the temps are still in the upper 30s low 40s so we aren't getting much warmer. But I'm smilin'!!!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. I am off to babysit a sick grandson so will pop in when I can.....
