| Here's hoping everyone had a wonderful and blessed Easter Sunday. The temperatures here were warmer, so it actually felt like Spring! Unfortunately, the Easter bunny was too cold and wet, so the eggs got hidden in the house. Did I mention that we had snow on Saturday? The little ones, Morgan and Taelar, got spoiled rotten by the Easter bunny, and then the other grandparents came for Easter dinner. We had a 16 pound ham! It was way too much for all of us, so a lot went home with them and with Gregg's sister and her hubby. The strawberry shortcake made by Gregg's mom was totally delicious, and a nice way to top off all of the chocolate! Alas, today is Monday, and while I'm trying to continue with my fifteen minutes on and fifteen minutes off, I'm finding it a bit difficult to stay focused. I think that's because everywhere I look in the house I see something that needs to be done. Oh well, nothing to do, then, but to just get to it. Right? This week we are in the Living Room / Family Room. As I look around my two areas, I see a whole lot of board games in the Family Room that can be tossed because they are missing too many pieces. That's because Morgan likes to play 'house' with the pieces! So, if I can get those board games out of the house today, I will consider the day a success! AFTER I find the energy! I'm at the bottom of my third cuppa, and still haven't gained one bit of energy! Too funny! I realize that I haven't yet put up the Missions for the week, so I'll do that next. I've actually given myself one hour to sit down and catch up with computer stuff and friends. It's the last week of April! May comes next. Happy, happy! Here in Nelson we have an old-fashioned May Day event with Morris Dancers and a May Pole. Here's an article I wrote for this year's celebration, along with photos I took at last year's celebration: May Day in Nelson. OK. Enough of my babbling along this morning. I'm off to type up the Missions for the week! Homemakers' Haven Come Join the "A" Team! |

| Good morning everyone! It's been a long - but good - week here. I woke up terrified yesterday morning because my sister and brother-in-law live in the tornado-ravaged area of Alabama. It was a few hours before I could get through to her, but both she and her husband are safe and well. And, being the people that they are, they immediately went out to help others in the neighborhood who were less fortunate. Karen, my sister, had been working at church when the tornadoes went through and she ended up being stranded on the highway on her way home by all of the fallen trees, downed power lines, and flooded roads. But her husband came to rescue her in his white Expedition (his white horse). So, yesterday was a bit tense for me. Sammi tried to go and get her driver's license, but missed the written portion by one question. She was disappointed of course. But she can try again in a few weeks. The spring birds are returning - finally. Yesterday I saw a rose-breasted grosbeak. That thrilled me to death. Soon the hummingbirds will arrive. There's not too much on my plate today. I still have to finish up the menu and grocery list, and the kiddos are waiting patiently for craft time and story time, so I should cut this short. I enjoyed watching the replays of the royal wedding today. Did you get up early enough to watch it live, or did you sleep in? Me? I slept in! Have a gorgeous and wonderful Friday. | I thank God for your family's safety. I am working on the house full time now that I am back. I have today and tomorrow to see what I can accomplish and then on Monday, I'll be back to the books and month-end again. It rained constantly while I was gone but I must have brought CA sunshine home with me because the weather seems to be straightening out. Next week I'll have no choice but to crawl through the flower beds doing clean-up. |

| I'm under the gun on productivity this week Three of Hank's sisters and their hubbys are arriving this week-end for a week. Talk about being diligent with the housework! Whew....... We will celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary while they are here which is pretty cool since everyone coming except one was with us when we married 42 years ago. Hank's youngest sister was around 14 when we got married so her husband wasn't in the family yet. It will be a fun week! vic |
