WOW! Barb you sure got dumped on! Stay warm and safe! I sure wish we had underground power here, but no such luck  Our power company came up with a great solution to last years power outages, they were going to add a transformer 'loop' so that our downtown area would be able to flip a switch and the power would come thru the alternate loop instead. The solution required two large transformers to our downtown 'scenic' area. Unfortunately some powerhouses on the HOA pitched a fit about having the 'unsightly' transformers added to downtown. They threatened a lawsuit and now the whole project is stuck in mediation. Looks like we are in for yet another snowy winter with no power. Without power to our downtown are, we will have to drive a long way in the snow in order to get hot food, hot coffee and warmth. I am okay if there is a power outage, but we have MANY seniors in the area who cannot shovel their way out, cant put chains on their cars to drive out and are stuck in the cold with no food and heat  It would be nice to have a local spot that volunteers can take them to and make sure they are warm and fed... |
