The volcano sleeps, for now at least ..... it rumbled a bit a few weeks ago, but hasn't stirred in a while. The ash however is blowing all over the southern part of the country ..... we've had more ash fall here after it stopped than during the eruption. Still it's only been a dusting, nothing compared to what those closer to the volcano have had to endure.
Here's another one looking toward Reykjavík that same night:
Just catching up with you! Absolutely beautiful pictures and you are right, amazing!
Glad the volcano is still sleeping but sad you getting ash still. How are the farmers etc doing with the clean up where the worst of it was?
In my Hawaii thread, Carol is talking about a volcano acting up there. The carbon dioxide, I think you said, they call VOG.
Absolutely beautiful pictures of your beautiful environment! Thinking of you with your long days as we move towards solstice and then start moving to longer nights. And you are up taking pictures at 3 a.m.? You are a better woman than I am (and younger too !).
A cubit about the challenges of gardening and living in Iceland. The climate, the plants that can be grown here, beautiful gardens, beautiful scenery, a bit of culture and history and daily life before and after the economic collapse.
