I don't grow them because I don't have enough room. But lots of people do ....especially now after the recession hit. There's been a real boom in private vegetable gardens the past two years.
And potatoes are grown here commercially - not enough to keep us stocked all year though so there are imported potatoes in the stores from late winter/spring until the new crops hit the stores in fall ....
That sounds interesting, must save space to grow them in the bags. I would grow some if I had the space .... I was planning to plant a few this spring, but couldn't find them a place.
Ya they Form From the Flowers and the seeds carry know Virus Like Seed Tubers the first year there about the sise of marbles so you plant theam out in the spring and you get large poatoes some times you get some really diff ones paul
