| I try to post daily photos on my gardenfora website and thought I'd post them over here as well. | Morning! Today's photo is Dianthus deltoides:  A bright reminder of summer on a gray and rainy day. Still can't complain since the temp is in the 40's  Besides there's something soothing to me about a misty fog like today - not too thick, just enough to lend a misterious air to the surroundings.Have a nice day! | Hi Adina! :) Thank you  Yes! We have snow! Finally I was starting to think we wouldn't get any real snow this winter. We've had snow for two days now - we'll see how long it'll last.Today's photo: Lavatera 'Silver Cup' - really nice, compact variety from Thompson & Morgan  |

| I think the only explanation for the lack of snow is - global warming ;) We just don't get as much snow as we used to when I was a kid. But there are about 5-6 inches of snow on the ground now .... it will last for a few days at least. Yesterday's photo:  |

| Thanks Kelli They're called Redwings - the only native thrush here. Most of them migrate but there are always some here in the SW that stay through winter and rely on people putting out food when it snows. |

 A feast in the garden :) Lots of snow now - finally! The sun is getting higher on the horizon - high enough to shine through the living room window for the first time this year Nice to have bright daylight back Sunset is now after 5 pm - it doesn't get dark until after 6  |
