Family: Areaceae
Genus: Philodendron
Species: scadens
Common Name: "Heart Leaf Philodendron", "Sweetheart Vine"
Hardiness Zone: 10 and Higher

The Heart Leaf Philodendron is probably one of the most popular and well known house plants. It is a vine that can reach considerable lengths. The beautiful heart shaped leaves look pretty, trailing from a hanging basket, or it can be grown as a container plant trained around a moss totem pole. It prefers a well draining potting medium, water regularly but let the soil dry slightly between waterings. The Heart Leaf Philodendron does well in both bright or low light situations but direct sun will scorch the foliage.
