Thanks for posting Cinda! I've been to the lighthouse at Holland, MI, and a few others along the eastern coast. The second picture looks familiar, but I can't place it offhand.
The Wind Point lighthouse has quite a bit of history in our family. My uncle's house adjoined the lighthouse grounds, and we've held our family reunions there for many years. We got married at the Wind Point lighthouse and lived right down the street from it. My cousin Mike was a caretaker there for many years, and then another second cousin became the caretaker. They lived in the house which you can see at the base of the lighthouse.
This isn't a great photo, but it shows the small building to the right of the lighthouse, which hold the foghorns (you can see 2 sticking out on top).
Wow, that's really neat!! I love Wind Point, and usually stop by and sit for a bit when I make my trips up to Milaeger's Nursery. The grounds are so pretty, I could see it being the perfect spot for a wedding!!
It was a beautiful day. As we were residents of the town, the price was also right- it was either free or $50 to have the wedding there, I can't remember.
Well, not so much walk as climbed! Once upon a time there was a boardwalk there, but its gone now. So, yeah, it is rough. Most of it is pretty flat though.
