Do you know a useful link, a website with great information, or a good resource for breast cancer patients/survivors? Please let us know!

Vic, thanks. I saw the report on Fox News this morning. I need to look up just how many lymph nodes are in that area I had 18 removed and 11 were positive. No problem with lymphedema so far. Which is the main concern.

I had 18 removed as well.

They did suggest I get a new purse to remind me to carry my purse with the "other" hand so lymphedema wouldn't be an issue.

I ended up getting a fanny pack so I'm hands free all the way around Thumbs up

I also wanted to tell you that right after treatment finished, someone said I shouldn't lift weights as it could cause lymphedema and when I mentioned it to my surgeon, she disagreed, researched it, and said it would be fine.

I've lifted lots of weights and other things in the past 14 years and never had an issue.

Thanks, Vic! You may be right about needing a separate forum for "Links & Resources"... we've got it as a thread in the "Suggestions" forum to start out, partly to avoid having too many different forums at the beginning, but maybe it would be easier to find if it were on the forum list on the front page! :-)

Vic, I took the liberty to start a Lymphedema thread in the Coping with Surgery Forum. Hope that is ok with you Jill. http://cubits.org/metoo/thread/view/50570/

That's OK, I expect these threads to be a bit chatty... we'll keep the links themselves easy to find by adding them to the "Links" list for the cubit (look near the upper right corner of this page).
