And thats how I came to be cluttered.Everything had possibilities, and I was going to have more time, than I dreamed possible, Well, the tooth fairy won't get this mess streight, nor will the Easter bunny, so it must be up to me, and I'm chipping away.
I got rid of some old fencing, that I know was in the same pile for 25 Yrs., and the post were rusted into, and the wire was rusted loose, and it was a Giant Mess getting cleaned up, but the old hard packed soil, that was there, is now full of honeysuckle, and that builds soil, so I tilled it up good, and planted some nice prenniels, and shrubs.
The thing I did wrong was not gettint a before, and after picture. That would have made a difference. I guess Woofie is wright, about the " before" looks so bad you don't want it on film.I must remind myself about that, because the after is picture pretty.

Cinda, AnjL, and woofie, believe it or not, but I kneed your support, and encouragement. Keep up the good work, and we may soon be normal. Mike

Mike, Just cause you clean up some clutter doesnt mean you have to become "normal". I like you the way you are, you are just going to be happier and you wont be so busy thinking about all the things you "should" be doing, so you WILL HAVE that time that you "never dreamed possible". If everyone goes and becomes normal...who am I gonna hang out with? Sad

Truth is worth finding
I am excited to see the new garden area , to trade clutter for a place to plant is a Great incentive.
Got me thinking ...maybe I could make a deal with myself ...kinda a reward system .
For each room I get done I get a new plant ? I saw a pretty pink pussy willow at the farm store the other day.

Keep up the good work
Mike, your sight has been of great help to me Keeps me working and thinking in the right direction.
Thanks
Cinda

Well today I got more weeds pulled and I actually found my wagon! I wanted to get all the weeds gone, but just couldnt stand the heat so had to give up and come inside. I'm hoping hubby will finish them for me when he gets home Big Grin

For now, I'm off to work on my doll house (another unfinished project!)

Well Annmarie, I limit myself to sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. So anything else gets tossed. I have a craft room that hopefully I will be able to find soon to store these craft supplies in. Now what I have to do is not buy any more until I use up what I have. Normal? NORMAL? Nah, nah, we don't want normal! Just want to be able to walk from one room to the next without getting lost in or tripping over the stuff along the way. Sticking tongue out

I sort of have a craft room. Hee hee, I'll have to take one of those "before" pictures of it right now. If I don't get lost along the way. I have some evil designs on this room anyway. It USED to be the spare bedroom/guest room, but I'm starting to think...who needs guests? I could build a nice TRAIN layout in that room. And still have room for craft supplies. If I ever get it uncluttered. And get rid of the dead computers. And crummy old books I'll never read again. And the rolled up carpet that needs a place to live.

I have a room just like that and have been working like crazy for over a month to clean it. I am not finished yet but it is not quite as bad as it was. Why oh why do I let that happen year after year?

Woofie that would be a great room for a train set up!

oh and I discovered quite by accident that old rolled up carpeting makes for a wonderful weed block if your starting a new garden bed Big Grin

Our Library takes books ,then has a sale and uses the proceeds for new books fore everyone to share ...and they store them and dust them ...A win / win scenario all round

NOTE : do not go to the sale , It is a backward step *Blush*

Our local used book store will take used books and give you credit towards buying other used books. They give you 25% of the cover price credit, and sell their used books at 50% of the cover price. It's "you give them two, they'll give you one." Can't get into too much trouble that way!

Another, almost "must", is to take the carpet, and use it in the bottom of a fish pond. It is the one thing that you put under the plastic, so the plastic won't have something stick through it. Any body you know building an outside pond, will come get it.

Funny you mentioned modle RR, that is the one thing DW, and I could enjoy, her more than me, because her dad was a conductor on the B&O, Capital limited.

Elena, its like I said, its in the mind. We must get our minds uncluttered, before we can organize anything. I feel like the descussion on the old carpet is clearing the mind, and I want to commend Woffie, on getting a "before shot". That takes more nerve, than a pulled tooth. Mike

I love taking before shots. I dont always show them to people Big Grin *Blush* but I take and after shot and then see them both side by side and feel like I really accomplished alot, even tho sometimes a little makes it look like alot was done LOL

Um, actually, the carpet in question is a brand new area rug. Been sitting there for the last, oh, 4 years, still rolled up in it's original shipping material. What I REALLY ought to do is tear up that nasty brown carpet, put in hardwood flooring and use that lovely area rug instead. However, that's probably not going to happen any time soon. Sad

Too Cluttered

I have awakened to the realization that I am owned and addicted to my own clutter. I am not at all an expert on much, and certainly not this subject. I feel like if we can just admit that there is a problem..together we can over come. Mike
