| This is my favorite scrap wood/trash to treasure piece! A couple of years ago, I found this walnut table in some-ones garbage. They had coated it with one of those all in one stain finishes & it was horrible. Just the same, I saw the beauty in it & knew I could use it for something. A few months later--- I found a couple of interesting looking stumps from some pine trees that had been cut down. It took a while. but one day I got the idea---make a table from the trunks & the table top. Took the old legs off the table & stripped the top down to bare wood. Drilled holes into the tree trunks & used old, worn out drill bits as joiners , epoxied them in to join the trunks together & then did the same with the top, & then used the two part epoxy finish. Had originally planned to use it as an outside side table, but hubby liked it so much that we incorporated it into to our living room decor. Pictured :as a coffee table, but wasn't large enogh, now it's my favorite end table!!! Note: cut off the little nub you see to the left---stubbed my toe one time to many. PainterLady |
