Mamajack's presents: Christmas in July! 30% off at Touch of Nature

By Jill M Nicolaus (critterologist) on July 23, 2012

The nice guy we know variously as Bleek, Bert, or the Dutchman is giving us an early Christmas gift! During JULY ONLY, you can pre-order beautiful amaryllises at a discount through the Touch of Nature sale at Mamajack’s.

2012-07-23/critterologist/0832a6What a HOT summer!  Too hot to even walk in the garden, too dry to dig, too many weeds, too many mosquitoes.  What’s a gardener to do for fun?  Think about CHRISTMAS!  The crackle of a wood fire on a chilly night, the smell of evergreens, cookies baking, fluffy white snow falling…  and by the window, the most glorious display of AMARYLLIS you’ve ever seen!

Now, stop daydreaming and make those blooms happen.  Order now, and you’ll enjoy a pre-season discount of 30% on the first 250 bulbs bought.    Plus, you’ll be sure  of getting all the varieties you want.  Bert has found an awesome selection again this year – doubles, miniatures, stripes, picotees, even exotic cybisters.  2012-07-23/critterologist/6af609Brilliant reds, delicate pinks, crisp whites, there’s an amaryllis for every taste and décor.

Get your Christmas shopping done early. Ord er  some for friends, co-workers, family, anybody you would like to make feel special this year.  You're not just giving a plant, you're giving a gift of wonderment.  Imagine them watching their bulbs grow, and grow... and grow! and unfold into glorious bloom.

At these prices, no need to resist ordering a few for yourself while you're at it.  *Big Grin*

Never grown an amaryllis before?  2012-07-23/critterologist/454e2bYou’re in for a treat!    It's unbelievable that such a spectacular  flower could be this easy to grow.  Grow them on, and they’ll be even bigger and better next year!

Start red varieties in time for the holidays, but get some others also, to brighten your home all winter.

Bright pink 'Candy Floss' will knock your socks off. 'Rozetta' and 'Lady Jane' are simply dreamy 2012-07-23/critterologist/dc3943in shades of pink and coral. 'Hercules' (deep rose-pink) is one of  the biggest, sturdiest amaryllises I've ever grown.  'Apple Blossom' and 'Red Lion' are oldies but goodies, especially when Bert gets those big big bulbs.

If I had to pick a favorite other than "whichever is blooming today," it would be 'Blossom Peacock' -- double, white petals brushed with pink/red, picotee, just beautiful.

Which will be your new favorite this year?
