My nephew's English Mastif "Bubba" died last Saturday. He would have been 5 years old yesterday, but was diagnosed with cancer and had been undergoing chemo treatments for many months. He remained in remission for quite awhile, giving his family more time to spend with him. Bubba was a great dog ... a real "Gentle Giant", and he sure will be missed.
Lin--so sorry for your nephew's loss. Big Bubba was a magnificent looking dog, and what a sweet face! I hope your family will remember all of their wonderful times with Bubba and be comforted in knowing that he's now romping at the rainbow bridge.

Lin, I'm really late, but just saw this magnificent dog and pass along my belated sympathies as well. What a beautiful droopy face and large, lovable dog. I hope your nephew and all coping with the loss of their dear Bubba.
Annie: Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, my nephew and family have recently added a new female Mastiff to the family and are very happy. They still have an older Yellow Lab and everyone is getting along wonderfully!

That's good they have a new large object of affection. It's hard to grieve so deeply when you're busy with a new pet. I especially adore the photo of Bubba on the couch. He looks as if he just needed a "king size" something or someone to droop on, to call his own, and be happy.
Glad they've got a new family member. I like 'droopy' faced dogs or scruffy moppets (and just about everything in between LOL!)
