| It's been two years this month since this wonderful kitty left us for parts unknown. He wasn't quite three y/o, but we discovered after many false diagnoses that he had a congenital heart defect that wasn't 'fixable'. We treated him for months and up until the end, he had a wonderful life. Reynard was one of three feral kittens whose mommy brought over to our yard because she undoubtedly thought it was a safer place than she came from. He was the most frightened, hostile, hissy, spitty kitten of all three and I began to think he'd never tame. He suddenly did and became one of the huggiest of all our cats. During his illness and treatment, I came to think that he was sent to teach us how to deal with adversity. He never complained or fought against all the things we did to him. His vets adored him. Over a period of several months, he was punctured to have fluid drawn from his chest; he was stretched out on a table, shaved and gelled for ultrasounds; he endured daily needle pokes to get his fluids and he took his meds without a fight. ![]() Reynard was the epitome of courage and dignity. For anyone on DG, his story is there from beginning to end. He was dearly loved by all his (and my) supporters during that time. I miss you, sweet boy; you will never be far from my mind and my heart. ![]() Alma In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. – Thomas Jefferson |
