Who's having fun with container planting?
I'm very much enjoying this type of gardening; few, if any weeds, the bare minimum of bending and stooping, and the flexibility of being able to easily move some of the planters as the sun's trajectory changes are allowing me to grow so much more than I otherwise could.
Here are a few that I've recently put together....

Just a few mixed planters in their early stages. Some of these are sun-lovers that will be moved into, and out of my garden beds as the sun and heating conditions change.

I'm finally getting around to checking the condition of my *shaded for vacation* containers.
Most are doing well. Some of the sun-lovers are setting seed instead of continuing to bloom; I'm trimming them back to see if I can kick-start them again. If not, I'll pull them out and set in something else. I still have seedlings left over from my spring frenzy this year!
Mom said that the most difficult thing to care for while we were away was that tiny pond. Go figure.
Seems the 'coons would get into it every night, pull out all of the water plants, disconnect the fountain hose and splash out half of the water while chasing the fish! At least they haven't pulled down all of those stacked slabs of rock .....yet. Last night they opened one of my deck storage boxes, removed opened and ate the packets of bird suet and gobbled up the fish food. I love wildlife, but this may be getting just a bit out of hand.

Sounds like it is Chelle!! I still have seedlings too, some from some of the seeds that you sent to me. Yesterday I found some small green caterpillar eating the nasturtium seedlings.

I hadn't seen caterpillars eating the nasturtiums, though I have had a problem in the past with black aphids on them. Caterpillars here love to eat up the hollyhocks and the spring growth on the roses.
I do have a new bug to contend with this year (and isn't that always the case?), some grayish with a bit of black, flying, soft-bodied thing. I know the body is soft 'cause I've been dispatching (squish!) them right and left. They first appeared on my wind flowers; now I'm seeing them in the veggie patch as well. I don't know what they're eating out there yet, I first noticed them on the weeds I was yanking out.
Do you have the small metallic gold beetle bug there? They love to eat holes in the sweet potato vine leaves, it really destroys their appeal. They usually have such pretty leaves too.....sigh.
I still have to use the old computer to upload pix, so they're few and far between right now.... no bug or container pix for now. Drat it.
Some of my containers look pretty strange, I had no idea celosia would grow 4 feet tall!
[Beautiful day today, first one in a while.... ....temps dropped a bit overnight, and the air is a lot drier. Nice breeze blowing so I'm sitting in the garden under some shade trees for my break.]

Yes, we've had those small golden beetles this year too. They did a fair amount of damage earlier in the season. I don't recognize that other bug of which you speak.
I've had some odd looking planters this year too, because I tried so many new things. This one red Amaranthus is a good 2' taller than the other one in the planter. They lay completely over on their side when they get wet.
Those gold beetles ate the heck out of the smaller green and yellow Amaranthus, but pretty much left the big red ones alone.

Chelle, I bought them in market packs and those little tags both said the same thing size wise. They would definitely be good in a bed as compared to a container. I quite like those big red ones. They haven't flowered yet, but when they do, I will save some seed, though I don't know if they will come true to form.

Doesn't matter if they're true, or not. I have some plants started from saved seed that aren't all that close to the parent plant, and I'm really enjoying their uniqueness.
