Colin is allowing the devil to direct his life. At 21 years old, I fear he does not know The Lord as his personal saviour. We are praying for his soul as that would change his earthly life.
He is the younger brother of Aaron who passed on last April. My heart is heavy.
Name: BirdieBlue Piedmont N.C. Today is a gift from God, Use it we
Colin, just like everyone of us must work our way thru the very real stages of grief.
It sounds like he is emerging from denial and running fast and hard thru anger. I am still lifting up your entire family, Christi.
Once the realization truly sinks in there are some phases in the grief process that may need to be repeated.
I know that you are there for him and that is a great gift from a great God.
Blessings my dear friend,
Remember; Each day is a gift from God. Use it wisely!
I thank God for prayer warriors. We had long talk last evening. He claims he doesn't believe in God, Jesus or an afterlife. He knows where all my faults are but is still very respectful of me. Pray with me that the Holy Spirit will strive with him and soften his heart. He has agreed to talk with me any time we can. I am at a loss. He knows I treasure and study my Bible but says it is nothing special. Written by some men a long time ago. More than anything pray I can give this to Our Lord and following His lead say the things to Colin that will bring him to belief.
We did not debate nor argue about any point. I cannot fathom non-belief in God and Colin cannot fathom 'how' I believe. I am open to your help.
Christi, i know from personal experience, if a person doesn't want to believe, don't debate and argue, because you just push him farther away from the truth. it is hard for a young person to believe in God and know He is there, especially in the world we live in now. everywhere you look, people are denying the existence of the Lord Jesus. sometimes they say they believe in Him, but if you look at their lives, you know that they don't really, or they just don't care. actions speak a lot louder than words.
And the grief Colin must be experiencing, i cannot even imagine.
if he is open to see some proof on whether God exists, maybe you can show him some prophecies, that came true. i can't say i am very good at it myself, but i do know that several prophecies, including the date that Jerusalem fell to the Romans, we predicted up to the exact date. i know of a website, its called the Berean Call, run by Dave Hunt, they might be able to help you. feel free to contact them, wonderful folks there.
And sometimes no matter how hard we try, and how convincing we are, we just can't open the other person's eyes, only the Lord can do that. here is a quote i love, "If you can't convince men of God, convince God of men."
many times all we can do is pray, and that i know you are doing. and so are the rest of us here.
sorry if i sounded pushy, i really, really didn't mean to. speaking from a young person's perspective myself, its just hard, to accept the fact that God is actually there. at the moment i am going through a rough time myself, in my spiritual life, but thats another story.
i just want you to know, that we are praying for Colin, and for you, that the Lord will lead you and help you, as you witness to him.
take care, and God bless, my dear friend. you are a wonderful person, and you have been a great encouragement to me
Thats part of the running away , but deep in his heart he does and he knows. Just show him love, my grandson says worse not talked or seen him in 1 3/4 yr. or my great grand kids it hurts so bad. they think thye are right and just cold.
Things are even worse for my Colin. The female he is with is not a good influence. Hard to tell which the worst. The family has not had communications in over 10 days. Talked with a reliable source and the two of them are using meth-amphetamines, bars (which translates to illegally made Xanax, which could be anything) ecstacy and who knows what else. His brother died of an overdose and he seems to be on the same track.
His brother? you aren't talking about Aaron, are you?
Christi, sometimes people have to hit rock-bottom before they will come to Christ. right now he is looking for another way, and all we can do is pray. May the Lord answer our prayers for Colin, like He answered our prayers for Brian.
God bless you Christi. Do you know the singer, Randy Travis? He wrote a song, called "When Momma prayed" and it is a beautiful song. really touched me and my mom, as we listened to it togther the other day. if you can, try and get that song, maybe you can google it.
just remember, with the Lord, ANYTHING is possible!
