Thanks for the new thread. I don't know how to do that.

My van had got stuck in the new part of the driveway during the rain. Had to hook the truck to it and pull it out today. Not hard but something to worry me.

Surgery in the morning at 6am. Cataract in the left eye. Please pray our van does not overheat on the way to the hospital. The thermostat is sticking. We will leave early just in case and I have some jugs of water in the van.

Thursday is the CT scan to see what is on his lung. please help me pray it is not bad. The devil wants to scare me it is cancer because DH was a welder for a lot of years.

You are right about the devil. I have learned first hand why he is called the prince of darkness.....he sits on the corner of my bed and terrifies me with all of the "what ifs".
I have learned to tell him "Get thee behind me Satan." and then quote John 3:16. He hates scripture. Works every time.

We are praying for both of you that all the best will yours. Our Lord is the victory.

Today was a mixed bag. The van started to overheat so we had to drive with the heater on. No problem this morning because it was cool but it warmed up before we got home and it was not as nice. It did keep the temps down under the hood and we never had to pull off or add water. that was a relief and a blessing.

The surgery appears to have been successful. DH said before they put the salve in it, he was seeing very well from it. He has to go back to the doc in the morning at 8:30. Hope the van still does well and the weather cooperates.

On the down side, DH's sugar is high and we can't get it down. I thought his meter had gone bad so I borrowed one from a lady in our church and it was only 1 point different. His leg is swollen so it looks like the infection is overpowering the antibiotic. He only has 5 days left of it and no refills. He needs the expensive IV med but we cannot afford it and cannot afford to travel back and forth to the hospital 7 days a week for 6 weeks to have it infused. I don't know what we are going to do. Just when you think this nightmare can't get worse, it does.

I 'm sure you all wonder how 2 people can have so much trouble. I hope you don't think I make all this up for attention. I assure you I don't. I would so much rather us be healthy and spending our time helping others. That is what we have always done and we enjoyed it so much. Now it seems all I do is complain and ask for prayer. I hate to get on here day after day and "complain". I don't like to bring others down or burden you with our troubles. I would much rather be entertaining you with funny stories and jokes. I just don't know what else to do.

We got the van fixed and it is running fine now. That is a load off my mind.

DH's sugar is still too high but no swelling in his foot and the wound clininc is very happy with the healing thus far. His antibiotics are finished so we will see how it goes from here.

The good news is that there is nothing on the lung. The doctor said the spot on the Xray was a shadow from his nipple. Thick nipples.
Not sure who he inherited that from. So now, the hyperbaric therapy is the way to go. Happy about that!

We got some strange news also. The human heart takes blood in from the body into the right side of the heart, pumps it into the lungs and has it returned to the left side of the heart which then pumps it back out to the body. Steve is unique. His heart is plumbed backward! Less than 2% of the world's population has this strange
anonmoly. Leave it to Steve. He always has to be different. :) It's nothing to worry about. Just different.

Lastly, we got what could be some bad news. Steve has an aneurism on his aorta. The doctor said they don't usually do anything with one until it reaches a 5. Steve's is a 4. We have an appointment with a cardiac surgeon next Monday afternoon. If any of you have any experience with an aneurism, please share. My Poppa had one inside his heart and had to have open heart surgery. Don't know if DH's bears any similarity. I know his is not insidethe heart. I don't know anything about the scale they use to measure one or determine it's severity. While we are certainly thanful and greatful to God for the good news, this is a worrisome thing. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Seems the doctors are determined to find something bad. I feel certain that if the general population had all of these "look-see" tests we would be surprised at all of the oddities that could be found.

Went to the cardiac surgeon. The heart is not plumbed backward. The aorta is placed wrong and wraps around the trachea but the doc said it was nothing to worry about at DH's age.

There is no aneurysm!!! His aorta is just larger than most and nothing to worry about.

He is not satisfied with DH's high BP and does not like th meds the other doc has him on so he is sending him to a cardiologist to get it under control.

We saw a different lady in th billing department. She said a lot of mistakes had been made in billing and she said we should qualify for a program. She is resubmitting everything for us. We have to go to the medicare office next week and then back to her. She told us not to worry about it. She would take care of it. That is a load off my mind.

Last night we had to go to the ER. DH's foot was swelling and he had pain in the lymph nodes in his groin. The foot was fine but he has infection in his ankle. looks like cellulitis or maybe MRSA. On high doses of broad spectrim antibiotics and waiting for results from blood cultures. Feels like he is coming down with the flu.
