Any clues as to why his sugar keeps spiking? Is he becoming resistant to the insulin?

He has gone over the mountain to bring feed and water to 2 of our horses over there. He may let them out to graze a while and sit and read a book. No better way I know to relax. Him taking care of those 2 will sure help me out. My legs are killing me today.

I found it Cheryl. I knew I had read something that you posted about your legs.

CajuninKy wrote:
I have had a bad few days. Much pain and weakness. Also stomach problems from the pain meds. Very trying time.

And I also see that you said you are having pain and weakness. What is that from?

I will continue to keep you both in prayer. I will be so happy when you are both in good health again.

Today was a very good day. First day since Wednesday that DH has not had fever and chills. He is going to drive himself to his therapy in the morning ( if he is feeling good when he gets up) and I will be able to stay home and get the work done at a more leisurely pace. I have to get the walls put up on the goat shed. My legs are better today and my stomach has not hurt. DH asked if the HBO would cause the chills and fever and they told him it was just a coincidence. Thanks so much for your prayers and support. We do not take it for granted.

Debbie, I have a muscle disorder and stomach ulcers.

No. They are not caused from a bacteria like some ulcers. Stress is a killer for me and I am under quite a bit right now. I know it will get better. When I have a flare up I have to cut out some foods and take some more meds.

DH felt good this morning and drove himself. Waiting for him to get home.

No joke! I'm amazed at how well you're holding up, even w/your strong faith. Hope you're taking a few minutes time for yourself every day, to just lay it all down & rest in the Love... =0)

Good news! A little more time for everything else. How's the goat shed coming?

I am hoping to get started on it this afternoon. I still have 6 horses to feed, hay to bring home and garbage to take off. I will have to take the "roof" off the top of the goat shed so it will be quite an undertaking. Also have to put up a bit more hot wire on one side so they can't get to the tarp and chew it up. They are the world's worse for that.

I had to take a few ibuprofen for leg pain so I am resting a few minutes to let it start working.

I was able to get to brooder tubs taken apart and off my porch. I moved the 10 youngest pullets to the pullet lot. Hurray!

You go, grl!

I've got to dig a big ol' hole to put a barrel in for an instant (?) root cellar... I'll be thinking of you. Big Grin

I'm sure they would help if I bothered them with it but I hate to do that. I know folks have their own work to do. I get things done a bit at a time. DH was actually able to help me a little bit this afternoon. We had a good day. He was not so drained after his therapy and no fever and chills. PTL!!! Got the hay moved. Need to get another load. Didn't get to the goat shed because I can't find my nippers. Have to do that tomorrow. Did get some laundry done, the garbage hauled off, a new tarp put up on the pullet pen, all the animals fed, more apples dried and the eggs picked up. A pretty productive day. Now I want to do some writing on my book. I love you all and appreciate you all so much.

Jay, be sure to let us know how the cellar turns out. I've heard of doing that.

It's raining here now, so no tellin' when the 'cellar' will happen. You sure enough had a productive day! Doesn't it feel good to get the upper hand on things every now & then? In a limited, short term sort of way anyhow. Love striking things off my to-do list!

What's this about a book? Smiling

I make a to do list every morning and it is always a page long. I put things I know I am going to get done, things I would sure like to get to and things that could use doing. That way I know I am going to get some things marked off and I'll have some things to feel good about no matter if i have a slow day or not. LOL

I am trying to write a book. It's a Christian romance sort of. More of a Christian reality I think. It's about infidelity and how it tears a couple apart. How it happened and how they deal with it. I don't have any first hand knowledge of the subject so i don't know why God led me to it but I'm trying to do it justice. I have actually written another book but never got it published. I only sent it to one publisher. Maybe I should try again. Even if I never get them published, I enjoy the creating and I love reading them. LOL

DH is doing pretty well. The chills and fever have quit. He had a bout with throwing up but we think it was a 24 hour bug. He was fine the next morning and did not miss a treatment. His foot is looking very good. He is tolerating the treatment better. Not as tired when he gets home. He was totaly wiped out and would go to sleep as soon as we got home. That has gotten better. Now he stays awake until early evening but he is still bloating up badly and that is painful. Hoping that will stop too. He is still on antibiotics for the infection and I don't know if they plan to do a bone scan after HBO to see if the infection has cleared up. i guess they will tell us all that later on. His treatments will go on until Thanksgiving week. He is able to drive himself for his treatment now so I get to stay home and do the work at a leisurely pace. That is such a blessing! Thank you all for continuing to pray for us. I am so glad to finally be able to relay some good news!

I'm so glad to hear DH is doing better! No doubt all these prayers, love & blessings are helping. Big Grin And how nice it must be for you to have a little more leisure in the push to get things done... I know how it is to have about a billion things to do & 2 days to do 'em in. Hilarious! Makes all the difference in the world when you get 3 days. Hilarious!

Even if you don't get picked up by some publisher, there's all sorts of other ways to get your work before your readers... of course, eBooks are coming on strong, & I'll bet w/a little research you could find a site that publishes eBooks online... something for when it gets really cold. Smiling

Does your church have a website? Maybe offer it there in PDF form. Then it could not only be downloaded into folk's computers, but also sent in to format for all the different types of eReaders by whoever wants to read your book.

I think you were led to write these because of your strong faith and well-developed knowledge. I feel confident there are plenty of folk who would like to read your work. Big Grin It's always soooo painful when marriages/relationships are betrayed. Sad Novels can certainly provide support, encouragement & guidance during those times.

Thinking of you both...

Cheryl, I certainly have not stopped praying for better and better days for both of you. Our grandson, 22, moved in with us the first week of September and things are very busy here. We have been empty nest for a very long time. The job market has not been kind and we could not refuse the need.

Hi, Jay. Haven't had time to read much lately. That I sorely miss.

Well, there you go Cheryl, maybe Christi could put your book on her eReader... she's a HUGE fan of them. Big Grin Forget the corporations, just let it travel by word of mouth.

I just finished chapter 7. I would like to get some selected folks to read it as i go along so i could get some unbiased feedback. How can i do that and still protect it without it being copyrited?

One thing you can do is mail yourself a copy & don't open it when it comes back. The post date on the envelope will show when it first existed, & the addresses will show who first had it. Also, check out Archives.org... you can actually upload your book there under various copyright restrictions...

I did that with the first one back in 1996. The envelope was torn when I got it back but all the paperwork was still intact. It has since fallen off but i still have it. I'm thinking I will resend it with all the paperwork inside with the manuscript. That will give me 2 dates. I'll put it in a box next time and seal over the tags with clear contact paper when I get it back. i would like to reprint it and do a little tweeking. guess that would be called a revised issue.

Clear packing tape will work too, to protect the addresses & dates. Big Grin
