I could use a bit of prayers. I just got a call that my mom has had a stroke. It doesn't seem to be really bad, but it is bad enough that she is being admitted to icu. They will move her to a room after 24 hrs. if she does okay and they said she'll stay until they can send her to rehad.

All the time I was packing to move here, I knew this day might come. I am not even through moving yet.

Sis, says stay on standby 'til we see how it goes. I am packed and ready, but waiting for the word on when to come. I'll be on pins and needles because my heart says go now, but I know I shouldn't go yet. This may turn out to be one problem that leads to another or it could be not as serious as it seems. Waiting is hard. If I were wealthy, I'd jump on a plane, but I know this could be one of many problems, so I have to wait.

I hate not being there.

My mom told me that if anything happened to her, not to rush back, but to stay by the phone and choose my trips back carefully. She said she didn't want me to feel bad if anything bad happened and I wasn't there. She told me all this when I was trying to decide whether to move here 2000 miles away or not. She said she really wanted me to make the move and she would be sad if I didn't do it.

Now, I am the sad one.

Sweet Charlene, you would feel bad even if you had been in the same room with her. As you know, we are all born dying. We will pray in faith believing that this is just a bump in the road. MIL is 93 and we finally had to admit her to assisted living. Dr. says she has been having transient ischemic attacks for sometime. One day it will be full-blown. Your mother is strong and even stronger in her faith. I remember how well she came through the apartment fire.

You must put all of the "what if's" out of your mind. As a mother yourself, you know you would want your children to do what is best for them, not you. She wants the same for you and is pleased that you are making a move.

Dear Lord, we come to you asking and believing that you will put your healing hand on Charlene's mother. Give Charlene the peace that passeth all understanding. We thank you that medical care was available so quickly and that she is in good care. We ask that you make your presence known to other members of the family that they will also lean upon you. Thank you this opportunity to come to you.

In the Son's Holy Name we pray,

Amen and Amen

Christi,
My mom is really zipping along on the road to recovery. She is in rehab and can be understood now when she speaks. She is walking with help and trying to smile with her weak side of her face. She still has a feeding tube and can't pass the swallow test yet. I am so grateful to a wonderful savior that has held her in his arms.
AMEN

Someday you must share the reason for your really big change in your life. From Buffalo, Texas to Florida is a BIG DEAL. I know it is for the good of all involved. Your new picture is beautiful. You and DH both appear that Florida is the place you should be.

God loves you and so do I.
