I've been straightening up a bit this afternoon in the Pasta Forum. I had sort of mixed up two threads by not really distinguishing between pasta casseroles and pasta with sauce. If you are looking for a missing recipe, either try finding it on the other thread or in the database. If you find errors in the database, please let me know! Thanks.
I'm using some of these hot afternoons to add recipes from my files as well as new ones I've come across that sound good. Gradually I am clearing out lots of paper clutter that has accumulated over many years. It's exciting too to come across a favorite recipe that has been missing or forgotten for a while.
Now if I could just find some enthusiasm for cooking! The weather is not helping at all. It's been 100 degrees or more every day for a long time, no rain, and 35 mph wind.
Going outside feels like walking into a convection oven.
If anyone has favorite recipes for summertime meals, please post and share them with us!
Thanks, Chris! I wish you could send some of the rain and cool temps our way. Is is normal for Wisconsin to be wet and cold this time of year?
A "cold" front moved through Texas, bringing thunderstorms and nearly 2" of rain to many areas a few nights ago, but now the temps are climbing back toward 100 degrees and the hot wind is starting to blow again. That's Texas in the summer: You'd think I'd be used to the heat, but it's a surprise every year!
Our average temp for this time of year is close to 80 deg. and not much rain at all. Just like the rest of the country we're having strange weather this year. I guess heat to you is like winter to us - just never really get used to it!
I was born in the South for a good reason, even though I whine about the heat. I gripe even more about cold weather. We have just a few weeks of what we call "winter" here in the center of Texas, and even then, there will be mild days mixed in. I always forget that those mild days are our "spring"!
