I have this megabloom that I decided to let grow just because it was so interesting to see. This is on Amazon Chocolate. It would probably be alot bigger if I took all the other stems off and feed the heck out of it, but that too much work.

The question I have is we have alot of rain coming over the next few days and as you can see my megabloom is more or less growing upside down and sideways. There is a space that faces up in the air. Kinda looks like a giant mouth on the pic. I am wondering if I need to try and turn or tie the tomato somehow so that big dip spot is facing down. I am wondering if all the rain will settle down in that gap and rot the tomato.

Anybody have any experience with such a thing?

I would just let it grow the way it is. If you notice the water staying in the gap too long you could stick a paper towel in and let it absorb the water.

Thanks! Big Grin I didn't even think about doing something like that. This thing is getting really ugly, but that is ok, Never having seen one before I am having fun looking at it. I do have to keep remembering it is a tomato though since it so weird looking. Hilarious! I hope it hurries up and ripens soon.

Well, here it is , my not so monstrous megabloom. Hilarious!

For the first time ever growing one, it has been a pretty neat experience. If I ever get another megabloom, I may just do all the extra pruning and trimming needed to grow these type of tomatoes to a huge size.

Anybody else have pictures of their megablooms to share?

For those that don't know what it is, a mega bloom occurs when two or more flowers have fused together to form one big flower. You will get one tomato from the fused flowers. Some of them can be very big and not so pretty.

I appreciate you informing folks of what a megabloom is as even I didn't know what the huge blooms were called.

They can get so ugly looking that they are cute. I haven't tasted it yet. I wonder if there is a difference in flavor at all?

Here is the other side of it. Kinda looks like it has a mouth and saying , " Please don't eat me!" Rolling on the floor laughing
