Wheeeeee!!! I just spent the entire day browsing every corner of fabric.com I even bought fabric! Linen and madras plaid. SO CHEAP! Oh, this is exciting. I didn't get to fondle the fabric, but it was fun. It had never occurred to me to buy fabric online until you suggested yesterday. Now I'm gonna get myself in trouble! It was so hard to toss things out of my cart. Thank you Trish!

Sofonisba, fabric.com is dangerous ;0

I have some absolutely divine linen/tensel blend from them. It was such a good price. I think I bought 4 yds of 3 different colors. I have no clue what I'm going to do with it yet...beautiful drape, vivid colors, soft hand- yum!

I also love how they have free shipping over $35. It's pretty easy to come up to that amount! Shipping for fabric can be very expensive.

One of my favorites for finding goodies is an eBay store called Phillyfabrics.
The have many batik and different fabrics.
They too can be addicting.

Trish, the free shipping for $35 orders, plus the money back guarantee had me hooked! Can't wait to see what you'll do with the linen/tencel. Are all your children girls? I'm sure you can think of something! I have one boy. He's 14 and wants to wear only black these days.

Phillyfabrics sounds nice!

I love batik! I used to batik using silk, haven't done that in years. Hancocks in Paducah, KY carries some lovely batiks too. I'll have to check out Phillyfabrics. Thanks.

A very good source if you are looking for a specific fabric or design is : fabshophop.com it is access to hundreds of shops all over the country. Just ask for what you are looking for and any shops that carry it will answer. I was looking for girly western prints and had twenty some answers in just a few hours.

Trish, many thanks!!!! I purchased a Singer sewing/embroidery machine about 9 months ago and just took it out of the box a couple of days ago. I've not sewn since early high school and am 60 now, so wish me luck at my new hobby!

Hi, Trish!!!! Whistling How is it going??? Oh..one of my favorite passions is sewing..Been sewing since I was 7 years old. My mom was the head seamtress at Astroworld for over 27 years until she retired back in 2000..I worked in the wardrobe dept back in 1975 to 1978 and learned alot on live show production costumes. So I knew some of the places where they ordered alot of fabrics to make the special costumes before the company went to pants and polio shirts-boring.. Glicks Textiles in Houston is another place I go-wholesale and retail. High Fashions in Houston is a neat place to look at fabrics from around the world but pricey. I will be checking in every now and then...
Love me like I am.
