Several friends have suggested doing a Quilt of Valor. Karen has graciously volunteered to piece together any blocks we can send to her. It takes 20 blocks to make a quilt. Please sign up here so we can get an idea of how many would like to make some blocks....Thanks

If its ok to do easy, Ill start out with 4 of these. Should they all be the same, or scrap them up. How much yardage does the back take? Or should I ask....how much yardage should I send for a back.

Hello folks!
Since I can see much better, for sure making less mistakes in cuts, think I can do at least 2.

Only requirements for the blocks.....12 1/2" x 12 1/2", Star pattern of your choosing, colors of our flag.
I'll provide the backing as I have lots of JoAnn's certificates and I'll put the blocks together. Then it can be sent to be quilted by a QOV member. I'll request that we are notified who it goes to and ask for pictures too. I'll see what I can do about coming up with a label identifying it as from our group.

Lots of free patterns available in quilterscache.com

I'm coming up empty on the names thing. The only name I thought of was "Grateful Hearts" but I was striving for something more Red White and Blue if you know what I mean. Something that demonstrates our thankfulness and appreciation while also indicating our love of country. Sewing Cubit's Sisters... still WAY misses the mark!

In the eyes of a child you will see
Maybe something like "Grateful Nation Quilters" since you are scattered across the country.
What I don't know is why books are written.
