| Having spoken to my friendly local garage (not the dealership) - it will cost about $500 to fix and I'd lose that on premiums if I claimed so we won't be using the insurance. They also suggested they could do a cheaper fix and save doing the full one till we want to sell the car, then have a respray. Its silver metallic so the colour won't match a touch up job, but as I'm not planning selling provided the dent is gone and it won't rust a bit of difference in the colour won't matter for now and it will save me $300. The dealership want a mint to do it - but as its out of warranty I can go where I like and the local guy is good - so guess where I'm going! My only consolation is that his car must be a mess - he missed my lights but he didn't miss his own cos I found a piece of tail light glass sitting on top of my tyre! Carol |

I know what you mean, sometimes the cost of claiming is greater than the cost of taking care of repair yourself. You have to look at the big picture. |

| Hi Carol, sorry about your car. A similar accident happened to my car many years ago in a parking lot but the driver who caused it left a note with information how to get in touch with her should I want to collect from the Insurance. Glad you had a great time in Canada. When my sister and husband from Vienna came to see us we journeyed up to the same places plus other sights in Canada were included also. My Brother in law took a lot of pictures unfortunately we did not. Maria "Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it" G. Santayana |

| Are you getting back into the swing of every day life Carol? I sure hope so! I'll have an easy day today. I was only supposed to have 3 kids anyway and then I got a text from Brooks mom saying Brook wouldn't be here. A little later I got a text from Liam's mom saying he was sick. That leaves me with only Broghen. His mom said he was crabby this morning. I ended up putting him back to bed. That could throw off our whole schedule but since it's just the two of us, it's not a big deal. I went to the dr. yesterday (nothing major just follow up). I lost 2 lbs since I saw him last 2 months ago! LOL 1/4 lb a week but I guess it's a loss so I'll take it. Have a good day! |

| Enjoy the fair, Cece. Ours started yesterday. Carol, it's nice to see you again. Sorry about your car being crunched. Waving at Maria. ~~~ Yesterday morning I went to the co-op to be part of the truck crew. The truck comes at 7 and was on time. It reminded me of the days last winter when we moved the store to the new building. Organized chaos, but we got the job done in 2 hours. The produce order went to a new company and their products are beautiful. The remainder of the old company's week old produce was removed from the referigerators and replaced with new fresh things. I helped with that part, and those old products were weighed and written off as a loss, and then the volunteers were able to salvage whatever looked good to us. Well, here is what I brought home in 2 boxes: 3 heads of brocolli, 3 pounds of cherries, 4 tomatoes, 3 bunches of celery, 3 1# bags of baby carrots, 7 apples, 1 of those English type cucumbers that come wrapped in plastic, and 3 bunches of bananas. The brocolli has been picked over and trimmed, blanched and frozen in bags for 5 dinners. I got out my food dryer for the bananas, the horses appreciated the worst of the apples and we will appreciate the rest of them ourselves. We're working on eating the cherries as snack items every time we pass the table, the celery will be chopped and frozen in small bags for soups this winter since I have enough in the frige for now, the tomatoes will go into salad in the next couple of days, and the rest of the haul will be consumed soon as it is not quite so parishable as some of it. Truck day is a very good day to volunteer! Today I'm back to the ordinary. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. | Cherie, have fun at the fair! I hope you are able to find Jeannie's stuff. Great haul Mary! |

| How many volunteers are there Mary? Sounds like this is a great reward for them and mostly because nothing gets wasted. Read Americans waste 1/3 of the food they buy. I freeze bananas for banana bread. Have a great time Cece you too Jeannie, I loved going to fairs but they are not around here anymore. I still use a vegetable slicer I bought back in 1947, a man demonstrated it and sold it for 50 cents. Glad you have an easy day Sheri, what have you decided how to store the eggplants for winter? | [/b]Maria, I found a webpage that tells how to blanch them for freezing. I'm glad to know I will be able to freeze them for later use. [/b] |
