| Okay my laptop is messed up. Turn it on and I have my background but no icons, and no toolbars. How do I get to anything with out that? No even a start button. I've tried to turn it off and completely reboot and now way Jose. I can't find any way, On daughter;s and I so don't like hers I keep hitting the mouse pad thingy and everything jumps around. Her's don't have a way to turn it off and I just don't like it period.............................. the faster I go, the behinder I get |

| Ric, it has been turned off all day couldn't do anything with and my son Ryan was coming after School tonight. Just out a a chance I turned it back on and pleaded with it and its here I have it back! Oh soooo happy But I will remember your suggestion for in the morning. I shut it down only at night so tomorrow I will go with the safe mode program instead............... So glad to have it back. the faster I go, the behinder I get |

| Well..it varies with your operating system and whether or not you have a network. If you're Windows, regardless of OS, you have a task scheduler available. You will find it under your Administrative Tools (you can just look to see if there are any scheduled tasks). There are many tasks you can set parameters for and schedule. After they are scheduled they will run automatically at specified times. At least you should probably be running disc clean-up and defrag, along with checking for Windows updates and virus definitions. If you have a back-up drive, you should schedule that to run automatically too. Likely some of these were scheduled by whomever set your computer up. The 'Help' on how to do this is very good too.
