(previous thread: http://cubits.org/sitandchat/thread/view/40940/#top )

Ask and ye shall receive. I'm sorry, I have high speed and don't notice the lag so I tend to forget. Just give me a gentle nudge (like you just did) and I'll be sure to react!! (I'll try to remember to change it at the first of the month if it hasn't needed it sooner)

Hope you are all doing great!

Carol, loved the golden, great job at the show. Sounds like it really made your friend feel good!

Nothing much going on here this week.

Sheri

Thanks Sheri. This is much better.

It's been snowing all day, a good day for turkey soup either with noodles or dumplings. I think dumplings will win out because I'm feeling lazy.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Hilarious! Mary, I feel lazy every day!

We don't have snow yet but they are saying 5"-8" between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. We are supposed to go to DSIL and wife's house for supper Saturday but IDK about that. DH also found out yesterday he has to work Saturday night (which mean 13 days in a row for him) so if he has to get up and do snow removal, there won't be time to go out there even if the roads are good by then.

Ok, folks........here's what blooming in the greenhouse today. So nice to see on such a gloomy, dark day.

The brug is a variety that will not get huge (so they say) and is suitable for hanging basket culture. Which is where it will go sometime this winter when it does get a tad bigger.

Snow does change plans we have,> I remember quite a few of them especially around the holidays. Nothing like expecting 30 guests for a buffet dinner and on a few made it.

Lovely photos Anna, makes me still wish I had a green house.

I have not made dumplings for myself in quite a few years. I will always remember my mother's dumplings, you almost had to hold them down or they might fly away.

It was a beautiful day here but cool.

Hi. Just checking in because I was gone sick for a while. It was great fun reading all the updates, seeing Maria's grands (and her wonderful smile!) and enjoying that wonderful Christmas card tradition that Sheri, Jeannie and family do. CeCe...like your new look. Loved your lampshades Okus (and other Pics...nice site), Anna looks like a fun ride on those things! Ernie, just hoping you keep getting better. I'm just marking here so I don't lose the thread again, I really enjoy looking in and hearing about all of you.

Oh, dear, hope it wasn't serious. Lot of that cwap going around. Our son had the flu over the weekend, then his wife got it. He called me Sunday morning and when I said "hello", he said "I'm calling from the house of death". Big Grin They got better, and it's a good thing, as my DIL had another business trip to China. Left Wed.

Thanks Anna...yes, it was pretty severe for nearly a month and with pain care I am tolerating but still having problems; we think it is not illness but an internal problem. For various good reasons, I am putting off further testing and treatment until after the the first of the year as I can. Good neighbors and friends are caring for me as needed. We shall see. Meantime, I'm just behind on lots of stuff that will wait until spring. Poor dawggie is bored because I cannot play and go for walks as usual. We will get by this though. All enjoy your holidays!

Good morning all!

Hope you get better Jamie, doesn't sound like much fun.

I have not been sleeping well this week at all. Finally fell asleep near 1:00 a.m. and then had to get up @ 6:00. As it is now, I could have slept till 7:30! UGH Broghen normally comes around 6:45 but once in a while his step dad brings him @ 8. Well, I wasn't told but apparently today is an 8:00 day! Allison and Julia are normally here around 7:15 but their mom decided at sometime in the middle of the night that today must surely be Saturday and she shut the alarm off. Oops! Since my house is the opposite direction from her work and her DH was on his way home from work, he is meeting her at the edge of town and should be here soon with the girls.

Two of my other girls (Erica and Brook) have a winter dance recital tonight and the mom's bought me a ticket (after asking me if I would like to go). Sometime between now and this evening I need to get some sleep or I am going to fall asleep during the recital! (no dominoes Jeannie)

Have a great day! (if you can't then try to make the best of it anyway)

Sheri

Hope you get a "nickle nap", like my dear departed auntie used to say, and will be raring to see the recital tonight.

2 Christmas concerts today by the town's City band. First one at the local nursing home and the 2nd one at the Methodist church. Awesome accoustics in the church. Then we have punch and cookies afterwards in Fellowship hall. Each band member is supposed to bring a couple dozen cookies and I take care of bringing the punch stuff, small plates, napkins and cups. It all works. Big Grin

How great you are able to do all that for others, Anna.

Jamie, how are you? Better I hope.

Have not done much done of anything this weekend, Sheri except the usual stuff one does every day. On Friday my daughter did a lot for me, cleaning out the gutters things I used to do but can't clime a ladder anymore. She also raked leaves from the yard because the brand new blower's battery is faulty, it did not recharge. Grumbling

We spent Saturday in town since hubby was the official Santa Claus. He spent 6 hours with little kids on his lap, hundreds of them! Before the children came we had a photo session for the newspaper, and for Santa's helper to take pictures for us for our own Christmas newsletter.

I hope the little boy who wanted his adoption to be final so he could have parents for Christmas is able to have his forever family this year. In the evening the city had a parade, Santa and his helper rode in a horsedrawn carriage, the high school choir sang, the tree was lit, and candy was passed out to happy kids. More pictures are taken of course with Santa holding kids in his arms. Fun!

Here is my favorite picture. Santa's reaction to what I supposedly whispered in his ear for the pictures was a surprised OOOOO, the volunteers in the room all laughed and I was laughing at all of them! We had fun. Then the kids started coming.
