I have a CD player that I can play audio book CDs on, but it's a little cumbersome while out walking. Does anyone else have something else that audiobooks can be played on? I'm afraid technology has left me behind, and I'm out of date as far as mp3 players and ithings. I saw a deal on this Sony mp3 walkman thing, but I don't know if you can get books to work on that. http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/sony-e-series-walkman/4505-6490_7-33770120.html Thanks for any advice!

| I'm afraid I'm all about Mac at this point. You can get the smallest of the iPod series (a 'Shuffle') for about $50, and shouldn't have any problem with the audiobooks, but I would check to make sure. http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ - they have an 800 number you can call with questions before you purchase anything. If you go up as far as the iTouch (like an iPhone without the phone part) you can read off of it, as well as hear a book.... you're looking at about $150+ at that point. | I think the Shuffle might just shuffle the book. Here's a compatibility page from Audible.com... they don't use mp3 technology, so you'd have to find out if the little Sony is .aa compatible. http://audible.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2843/kw/... There is also a customer service number on the Audible site you could call. I haven't tried loading any of my Audible books on my Kindle or Nook, but it does look like that should work w/the Kindle... http://audible.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3901/kw/... and currently you can get the wifi version for $114 Won't work w/the Nook... http://audible.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4053/kw/... The iPod nano is currently $149 for 8 GB & it's tiny, & clips on. I listen to my books on a slightly older version of the nano & it's great. Completely Audible compatible. Unfortunately I was unable to access Sony's Walkman page to review the specifications for the model, so I can't tell you if it's compatible w/Audible formatting. | Thanks to you both. We thought we could get the Sony for free with our Sony points, but it turned out we had to purchase it, so it's a no deal for now. Guess it's back to counting my steps as I walk... |

I haven't been taking the dogs on my walks, either they pull every which way, or bark and lunge at cars, or it's too hot... Just me and my own little thoughts!

I highly recommend those "nose collars" for pullers -they work like magic. Boy do I understand "hot". In the end, only kindness matters. Art and Artists & The Reading Room http://cubits.org/thereadingroom/

My sister has a Nano, and listens to audio books on it all the time. She is able to check them out from her library and put them on her Nano. I keep wondering how that works. How would you return it? I know on my Nook, I have access to a library e-book for 2 weeks, and then it is no longer accessible. Maybe the audio books are the same way.
