| Christmas in St. Lucia was our pic for 2010 at the Sandals Halcyon. Although December thru May is the "dry season" we had monsoon weather for 4 full days and nights and were told that it had been raining the entire previous week before our arrival. We did have sunshine (kinda) for the final 2 days and a few days of light rain and occasional reprieve, but all in all it was a washout where the weather was concerned. We did make the best of it spending one full afternoon in the torrential rain sitting in the hottub with a few vodka tonics! We met 3 other couples who decided to join us and it was full filled story telling afternoon! The roads were a nightmare following hurricane Thomas in October and many were washed out. The seas were angry the entire trip with a red flag for the beach every day of eight! I'll be posting many more pics in a few days but here we are on our anniversary boat party in front of the pitons in a momentary dry spell that lasted maybe 12 minutes! We stayed at the Sandals Halcyon in one of their Beachfront Honeymoon Concierge Suites - Not sure it was worth the extra $$$ so keep that in mind if you go. There really is not difference except we had a stocked bar in the room? Lots of roads were washed out because of Hurricane Thomas. Getting around the island was quite precarious and if they don't get those roads repaired, I don't know what may happen after a few more rains?   Lot of the banana crops were damaged heavily. It poured monsoon style during our boat trip to the Pitons and Soufriere that is when my foot slipped on the boat hitting one of those molded plastic benches breaking my big toe - No I didn't scream, it hurt so bad no sound would come out!
