Out of the Tucson tragedy on January 8, 2011, came heartache, anger, frustration, devastation and a mixture of many other emotions. But it also brought inspiration in the form of a nine year old girl named Christina-Taylor Green who was one of the six people killed that horrible day.
On January 8, 2011, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords met with Tucsonians at a political rally at a Safeway store. Dozens of people were shot and six people were killed by a lone, hateful shooter. Nine year old Christina-Taylor Green was one of those instantly killed."As Good As She Imagined" is a moving and inspirational book about this remarkable child's life.
Roxanne Green and co-author Jerry B. Jenkins have truly captured the
essence of Christina-Taylor Green, an extraordinary little girl whose desire
was to help others in a myriad of ways. The story brings to life the raw
terror of a terrible moment in time and depicts the soul stirring grief of a
child's family having to say good-bye. But, it also offers a picture of hope as
Christina's spirit of giving is so sweetly told. Rest assured, this is one book
you will need to read with a full box of tissues at hand as you grieve with
the family and revel in the joy and happiness that their beautiful daughter
brought into their lives. This sweet, love-filled book will capture your heart
and serve as a reminder to cherish every moment of your loved ones lives.
We must remember to never take for granted that we will see them on
earth again. You will come away with a desire to hug, praise and encourage
your children, family and friends at every opportunity and understand the
importance of saying "I love you", giving them your unconditional love.

Last night I watched the hour long special on ABC about Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly. Gabby will continue to bring inspiration to the country as she fights for her life after nearly being killed that horrible day. And while our politics differ, she is, like me, an Arizona gal, and one of the most engaging Congresswomen I have witnessed. In the same way Gabby will affect all who watch her journey of recovery, Christina-Taylor will affect everyone who reads this tribute to her life. This little girl is a wonderful reminder to embrace life with all that you have.
The book, As Good as she Imagined, will be available on line or at
bookstores in January. And whether or not you have a strong faith in God,
this is a must read.

Over the past eight years, I've learned that the things that seem so important are fleeting and to trust God completely with my life is what really brings me joy, peace and contentment. I love bringing the written word and images together as a way of reminding us all to lean on God and not ourselves. My favorite verses are Proverbs 3: 5-6, Jeremiah 29:11 and Matthew 6: 25-27.
"Christ followers shouldn't be stuffy, boring or rude . . . but purposefully embrace life and live like Jesus did: with joy, love and compassion".
