Most of the plants I've put in the last 2 years have been for the Bflys & hummers and last year my garden sure got visited. We were in a drought & i think there were slim pickins out in the wild. I hardly saw any wildflowers last year.

High desert so yes it is normally dry but we got just a few inches of our normal 8 to 10 inches last year. This winter was better & most of New Mexico got close to normal or even a little more but my area didn't. I think we got enough for the spring wildflowers. I'd love to do a seed trade with you Charleen Thumbs up

I tried Cherry Brandy Rudbeckia last year and mine came out with brown flowers!! Not a pretty brown either. Did your cherry brandy come out reddish? I saw some pictures that were very nice but several of us were very unhappy with ours. I bought plants & not seed though.

Black Columbine.. never even heard of that, sounds divine!

will c-mail you now Hurray!

I read somewhere...maybe on another site we all know and love...about the brownish looking Cherry Brandy Rudbeckia. I believe they also said they turned into the beautiful red later on.

On mine the buds looked so pretty, the curled up petals (undersides) were cherry red but when the flowers opened they were brown & stayed that way. Maybe the sun did affect the color - mine were in full New Mexico sun!
