Terrific beginning Melissa! It will be interesting to see where it has evolved too by the time my time arrives.
My DH lost his family when he was young and was raised in an orphanage. He was aged out at 18...The system left no room for care beyond that point.
It's sad, isn't it Zany? One of my kids on student council is/was a foster kid. He was a Junior when he turned 18, and that was it, the foster care system was finished with him. Luckily for him, his foster family allowed him to stay with them, I know the majority of foster care kids aren't as lucky as he is. He will be a senior this year, and is planning on going to college with the full support of his family. (foster)
He had a sports scholarship to Pen. State. He was injured the first season. No able to play they pulled his scholarship. So he enlisted in the Navy and because he had no family ties he was sent to places we "were never in" to do ... who knows what.... His records are page after page of black redactions. That is something he does not talk about. But he does talk about the orphanage, which was a church owned operation on a working farm. His memories of life there are actually happy ones.

oh Nancy it was a perfect addition. I'm glad at least Haley met a friend on the bus and so glad Sarah seems to be like a really good person. But the now I wonder, what is in store for Haley, Sarah or even Joe??????????????? A love match with one or the other? hmmmmmm interesting to think about and anticipate what the next addition will bring to lights.
