I used to knit almost everything
Left it for years and returned to knitting a few years ago.
Maybe we can share information about sources for yarns.
I found this website for these beautiful silk yarns. The silk is a village industry in India.Women gather the ends of the warps in the Sari factories and spin it into vibrant yarns.
This is a verrrr y long scarf I knit last fall.

This is just one of many sites that sell it.

I bought some of the sari recycled silk yarn and it is so pretty. I can't make up my mind what I want to make out of it. I bought mine from a lady on Ebay.

Smiley's Yarns is my favorite place to buy yarn online...

You have to buy 50.00 worth at a time, but it's worth it!

Oh, wow. I can drive to Smiley's. This is dangerous! I need a job! ~Okay, Harper. Calm down. You have yarn you can knit your scarf and hat first. No need to buy the whole store out (but I want to!)

Oh, I know.. it is soooooooo tempting to just buy and buy and buy. Not that I can afford to, but it's so tempting. I do pick up a skein or two when I'm out... bad habit, I know.

I just had the thought, we could always do a Yarn co op from Smiley's if enough of us were interested... THAT would be a fun co op!

Hurray! I think a yarn coop would be great thing to do. I think there would be enough of us to give him some great sales if he would do it Especially with Smileys. I just can't afford to buy 50.00 worth at a time, even with the bargains he has.

Knit Picks is my new favorite. They have an outstanding variety of colors. I have ordered several times and am very satisfied with the products, the prices and the service. One VERY kewl service they offer is Wish List. Shop and browse; enter the items on the Wish List and e-mail it to your family. Two of my daughters used this list to gift me with an amazing amount of goodies for Christmas. Daughter #1 remarked that it was so much easier for her to choose gifts for me. They spoiled me wonderfully !!!
