FAQ: Understanding the BB Codes

| This is a code that is enabled only for the info boxes and not for the forums. To use an image in the forums you may use the add an image function found under the post entry box. This prevents the use of certain problem image file types in the forums. The policy has been set by Cubits management and can only be changed by them. |
| The code for changing font color is [color=#ff00ff]This is a different color[/color ] eliminate the space before the final bracket. This code is NOT enabled for forum use. It is only enabled for use by the cubit owners in the info boxes. |
| [size= put number here] text [/size ] leave out last space before ] The system accepts sizes 8 SIZE 8 through SIZE 20 This code works only in BB Code enabled areas of your site controls. It Does not work in the forums. |

| To keep from losing your data when the error message pops up, Click cancel instead of OK. Cancel will close the warning box and leave your text as it was. Clicking OK will take you directly to the Mozilla instruction page and your data will be lost. |

In an article or thread highlight the word and then click on the chain icon in the editors tool panel and paste the url you wish the word to link to into the box. 3. In an info box? Use the bb code as in the forums. How do I make an image into a clickable link? This can only be done in articles/ pages and bb code enabled info boxes. It does not work in forum threads. In an article or a page: insert your image. click on the image and then use the link icon in the toolbar. Paste in the url. In an info box: use the bb code. [ url=http://cubits.org/cubits/][img ]http://cubits.org/i/s/iagree.gif[/img][/url] ![]() How do I place an image into the top info box? Use the [img ] url [/img ] code. How do I get the text to appear on the left or right of a small image in the top info box? There is currently no code enabled for that function. Can I center the image in the info box? Yes, this is done by nesting code. [center] into the image code so it looks like this [img ][center ] url [ /center][ /img] How do I add alt tags to my images? In the wysiwyg editor click the tree icon and add a title into the box. In the bb coded areas (info boxes) this is not currently possible. How do I make a thread a sticky? Click on "Moderator: Manage this thread" at the bottom of the thread. ARTICLES QUESTIONS (1) Is it possible to upload more than one photo at a time? Uploads can only be done one at a time but you can load as many into the editor as you want and drag them into the article as you need them. (2) How do I overwrite a current version of my article with a new one? To alter an article just edit it and save your changes. There is no need to unpublish or republish it. (3) When I publish my article, will it appear in my cubit or does it only appear on the home page in the list of articles published? When you publish an article it is published to your cubit. It is also shown on the cubits.org homepage automatically. NOTE: If you publish the article without selecting an image thumbnail it will show only on your cubit and will not show up on the cubits.org home page. (4) What determines how the header and background color looks on my published article page? The articles header and background will be the same as that of your cubits themes. (There is no way to make them different at this time) |
