And the final answer is No, you cannot sort numerically.
Quoting:Hmm, I see. I can either sort by numbers, or I can sort by alphabetical, but it seems unable to sort by both. I reverted it back to sorting by alphabetical. Sorry for those of you hoping to sort by numbers. :(
Quoting:Okay, this is referred to as "natural case sorting" and it's not usually the default (I don't know why).
Anyway, I have updated the DB feature here to do natural case sorting. So you don't have to pad the numbers with zeros anymore. Feel free to edit your entries back to "1","2","10", etc. and it should work just fine.
Quoting:If you plan on alot of records, you will want to use 00001, 00002, etc. always go alot more digits than you plan to use...a pain to "fix" later.
Try numbering them "01", "02", "03", and so on.
I think that will work.
One more database question. From dave's tutorial:
"You can also set your other options, like allowing people to submit photos and comments"
In the Dahlianut Dictionary Database we would like to have the option for people to add their state, province and/or country if they use the word/expression. Can I do that as a field that everyone has permission to add to? or does it have to be a comment? Zany is there an existing database with the comment feature? I don't remember seeing that. Thanks everso for your help.
edification: threeg's hoya database has 'comment' enabled. It looks like it shows up on the side with the pics?
