| How can I set up a private forum in my cubit for one of my members so they can talk privately with family? I have a vague idea that I need to "start a group" and then add them as a member, and if that is correct, then how can I give them rights to manage that individual forum? Any help appreciated. | Every forum has its own set of permissions. If you set up a group with just that person then you can set the permissions to accept only that person. For them to "talk to family, you would need a second group with their names and set that groups permissions to for that forum so they can read, post pictures, and comments.. |

| I would make a group of say groupleader "sally" and have her as the moderator with me as admin? Then make another group and add sally and the members of her family, joe, ted and alice? then set the permissions? How do I limit it to "group members" only rather than "members"? | When you set up a group, that option then appears in the check marks for permissions. So you would check sally's family group , admin and moderator as allowed to view and post. No one who is not in that list would even know the forum is there. |

| Um, I'll go see if my "group" with just me has an option to check for "family group"? Thanks. Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |

| It won't unless you create it first. Go to your control panel and look for "Add a new group" Type in a name for the group. It can be named anything you want such as Sally's Family Forum. Add all the members to that list. Be sure to add yourself to it so that you can get in there and fix things if they need help! |

| Okay, step by step - lovin it! I'll go do it right now. Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |

| Thanks, I think I did it but may add you as a member to check out the settings if you don't mind? Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |

| Sure. add me and give me a link to it. |

| I made one but in order for me to be the only moderator, must I have yet another group with just me? say named Mod or something? Is there a way to make just one person in a group the moderator w/o having to have 2 groups for 1 private forum? | LOL, I don't think so. But it is easy to set up the groups and you only have to set each one up once...and edit them later if needed. Just be sure to name each group something easy to recognize so you know which applies to your different areas...Maybe Sally's Mod group so you know it only applies to that one forum when you need to go in there for another section...you won't click it by accident. |
| Thanks my friend, you know it all! But, when say the group moderator like Mod Sally goes to make changes in the forum isn't it possible she could accidentally check off some other group say Sams in error? What rights does the moderator have? Can they access the Control Panel and forums to edit? Or can they only manage that particular thread? | Not if she isn't checked off as a Mod on Sam's group. You can assign different moderators for each forum and they can only moderate the area you gave them permissions for and they cannot change the permissions unless you make them an administrator over the entire cubit. Think about the trust people have given to me when they added me as an administrator to their cubit so I could help them set it up...I had to be extrememly careful to only do what they asked and not make a change without their approval. Then I tried to convince them to remove me as administrator so there could be no question if something got changed later...it wasn't me |

| So when the moderator goes into the control panel for their forum that is the only forum they can access? But if they go into the control panel to edit their forum the choices that show up are all the groups and they could accidentally check the wrong member or group couldn't they? Does the moderator have access to the control panel? Can you explain to me what the moderator can access? |
| No, the moderators should not have access to your control panel. They will see" » Moderator: Manage this thread" at the bottom of each thread in that one forum only. |
| Oh, I see and that is all they can do then is split threads and such? Great. You are a wealth of walking talking Zany knowledge!!! Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |
| Yes! That way they have some control over that one area but do not have free reign over your cubit. |
| Thanks a ton!!! I am going to try it on my Hands at Work and invite you over and see what happens. Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |
