Glad to hear it's been helpful for you Thumbs up

I've read a lot there, even though I don't know when/if I'll ever get chickens. It seems like a really good community, and I love looking through the photos of everyone's coops.

Howdy all! I just met Critter over in the other building (ATP) and said I would stop by here.

Very cool. I enjoyed looking at all of the furry critter pics, and the links to other beautiful kitty-cats and the rest!!

Since you all are currently talking about chickens... here's my girls. They're New Hampshire Reds and VERY tough birds indeed! They have made it through our coldest winters with temps down in the teens to last year's extreme drought with over 90 days in triple digits!! Poor things had it tough last summer but they built themselves a little hut down in the cattails at the shallow end of the pond. I think their feet were starting to web. I told my dh that I'd like to build them a Cabana with a sprinkler system and a sand box for dusting themselves. I'm still thinking on a good name for the Cabana...

Here's a pic of their coop. We've moved it to a shadier location.

Hilarious! that's a good start, Sally! I really like it! Sometimes just a starting point helps to stir up the imagination! Thanks. Big Grin

Hubby says the sand box with a roof over it isn't at the top of his to-do list! hmp! I may have to try and figure out how to do it myself! He thinks I spoil the hens too much... naw!

Christine, everytime I go outside, I have this little black hen that runs after me wanting me to turn over rocks or move flower pots, so she can get the bugs...

Aren't they cute, Charleen?

It's so funny, these girls follow us around too. They seem to like to hang out with us. All I have to do is make a clicking sound and they come running!! We have four hens right now but I'd like to get more. They are so cute to watch and pretty much self -sufficient, much easier to care for than I ever imagined! Love those girls! Lovey dubby

I became allergic to cats in my 30s, so best I have are the ferals that patrol these three houses, and they don't usually stay still long enough to have photos taken. Except for the time the grey tabby climbed in the car window of the potential new renters next door when they were looking at the house. And didn't HE get a surprise when he came back to get in the car. :p

Boss' daughter's dog, Rocky. Big gamboling sweet-natured happy dog visits the office on occasion. Much to Sweet Pea's dislike, but she's gracious as long as he stays out of "her" office (which she allows me to use as my own if I'm good.)
