It's all about choices.
Ms. Christine Burton has been writing, and publishing on line, PS THE HOYAN where she attempts to 'set the record straight' about hoya taxonomy. Her information used to be fairly accurate, but more recently she has seemed extremely confused. When Dorothy Green noted on the Hoya Forum that Ted had never gone to Ponhpei until very recently (CMB said he had collected H. schneei there) she corrected her statement on the PS The Hoyan site.

In her recent article she flays out Joni of SRQ Hoyas with some justified label corrections, but none that will change history in the slightest. Most of her harping and insult is more by insinuation and much of it directed to the size of the photos in Joni's catalogue.

One point I would like to explain is Ms. Burton's statement that Joni vilified David Liddle on Daves Garden last year.

Two years ago, (not last year) Joni had hosted an order from David Liddle and the order was made early in the year, March I believe. When Joni visited me in June, the order still hadn't been received and we called David who said it would be arriving shortly. I believe it was about 6 weeks later the order was filled. In the meanwhile, others had received orders that were placed later than Joni's. On Daves Garden Joni made a comment that she was not happy with the way her order had been handled by DL. Joni was a customer and DL was a supplier and she was expressing her feelings about the way her order was handled. She was NOT vilifying David Liddle (to vilify = n. to speak evil of, to defame) she commented on her experience.

Ms. Burton should be careful, as she knows all too well what 'vilifying' means as she fills her pages with horrible personal attacks about just about everyone else in the world.

As I have stated, I am using this thread to point out that much of what Ms. Burton says borders on the truth, but alot of her statements are just plain wrong. I am sure these comments will be passed on to her by a friend of hers who is a member of Cubits. I hope so. I would like Ms. Burton to know we don't swallow all of her swill all of the time!!!

I tip my hat to you.

Growing old can suck all the memories out of us and scramble them up. CB should stop writing and just enjoy her hoyas, whether she remembers their names or history or not.

To CB: Stop stressing so much; enjoy your life while you are able, and leave hoya history alone.

I agree with you about memory loss, and I also think that she has been "on the attack" so long she has forgotten her own stories. They are now jumbled up in her own mind.

I really feel sorry for her. Confused

I really appreciate your interpretation of my comments and feelings regarding the 2009 DL order...and they are 'dead on'!
I would never vilify anybody or attack anyone personally but I do like to share my experiences and opinions...it's called feedback.

Thanks to CB for critiquing my website...it made me take a second look at it and correct and also change components... some issues were valid. I expected her to be way more critical and personal than she was...as long as she's happy with herself...that's really all that's important.

As I've said before, I have no clue who Ms. Burton is but she sounds like a very unhappy and negative person.
I remember Joni posting on DG regarding the lateness in shipping/receiving of that 2009 DL order, and she in no way whatsoever spoke badly of Mr. Liddle! She just gave her opinion about being disappointed in the way her order was handled!
