It's all about choices.
I moved my pink H. acuta from KotaKinabalu from the greenhouse to more shade outdoors and put slow release fertilizer on the pot so I wouldn't have to worry about that. Here is the first blooming and there is a bit more pink in the blush....

Here's what the bloom was like in the greenhouse earlier this year:

The second picture is just wondertul.

Let's see if I understood correctly, when you moved to more shade it turned more pink? Is it correct? Sorry some times I get confused, English problems!

My plant turned more white when I moved it to the outdoors in the shade. But....I don't know if it is the 'shade' that caused the change. It could be the change, the different less predictable watering, the fertilizer.... or no cause at all. It just did it.....

HAHA... My hoya collection is going out to grow wild in the trees!!! And I will keep a few in the Greenhouse. It's a lot of work to take care of them when I would rather be traveling and/or painting!!!

I understand you perfectly! As I told you I live in a small apartment, take care of them is very hard! You're right! Grow wild in the trees is the best solution, and better for them!

Aloha Hoya

I have been collecting, studying and selling hoyas for about 10 years. This Cubit is about growing hoyas, and about the hoyas I have to sell. I welcome any and all hoya lovers, whether you want to buy or not. Hooked on Hoyas is another great Hoya sight
