Yesterday I repotted my H. patella into a larger pot in order to make a bigger plant. As it was...the growth was all on one side.... So, I chose a bit larger pot that I normally would have because I wanted to have room to support more root systems. I spread the vines around the pot and weighted them down with rocks so that the area would stay 1) moist, 2) dark.... When the vines root, I can cut them off to make new plants OR I can leave them be... I think I shall go with the latter!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Leap. The net will appear. |

If I'm looking at growing in a pot for a long long time, I try to give the plant a couple of rooting points in the pot: in the wild they grow from a rooted node to a rooted node...no pots out there...and the plant may initially start in the crotch of a tree (not a 6" pot!). So there are various points from which the plant gets nourishment etc. This is my 'insurance' for a healthy plant and a backup in case the main plant dies..... ![]() Leap. The net will appear. |
