Hoyas are really very forgiving...most of them grow like Philodendrons which are harder to kill than cockroaches!!! They are real survivors: each node has the capability of producing 1) new roots from under the petiole (stem of the leaf) and, 2) new growth from the meristem which is a small 'gland' on the top of the petiole close to the main stem/vine. For this reason, when you cut off a leaf, don't cut it close to the stem/vine...leave about 1/8". Sometimes you can even see the little growth point as a wee speck/bump. Leap. The net will appear. |
