Bachelor thread at Family Names post 3454

My great, great, grandfather, Joseph Bachelor, was baptized on 24 August 1799 in Marsh Chapel Lincolnshire, the fifth child of William Bachelor and Mary North, who lived and farmed in nearby Grainthorpe.
His parents had married in Saleby on 6 Feb 1786 and lived there for the first nine years of their marriage. William and Mary had 2 children while living in Saleby; the very short live William 20-22 June 1788: a second William born May 1793 but died before 1802. A daughter Jane was born June 1797, and baptized in Tetney. She was followed by 8 more sons all of whom were baptized in Marsh Chapel; Joshua 1798, Joseph1799, a third William1802, John 1804, Alexander 1806, David 1808, Thomas 1811 and James 1813.
GG grandfather Joseph lived to be a exactly 83 years old dying on 8 August 1882 in Little Grimsby, Lincolnshire where he had spent 45 years of his adult life. He was a husbandman on the farm and church warden in this very tiny Lincolnshire village. He married Jane Blow, who had been born in Humberstone in approximately 1805, a daughter of Ezekial Blow and Susannah Marratt. They were married in Tetney on 11 August 1823.
For a while they lived in Market Stainton, and by the time they moved to Little Grimsby they already had 6 children: Mary (1823-1824), Mary (1825), Susannah (1827), William (1828), John (1832), and Rebecca (1834). They had a further 7 children in Little Grimsby, 3 girls Ann (1836), Frances (1838 -1845), Jane (5 Nov 1843-1915)who was my great grandmother, then the twins Henry and Joseph, who both died, born in 1845, followed by a second Joseph (1847), and a second Fanny (1852). Jane died the following year on 16 Nov 1853, probably from total exhaustion after having all those children!!
My great grandmother, Jane started work as a kitchen maid in South Elkington, Lincolnshire where she was on the 1861 census. By 1871 she was a live in, domestic cook for a stockbroker’s family at 34, Bootham, York. She married Tom William Stather, a non domestic gardener, on 13 March 1872 in Cottingham, East Yorkshire. Tom was the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Stather, and raised by her parents William Stather and Mary as their youngest child.
