One of my "brick walls"

These folks are my Great Great Great Grandparents on my father's side.

Jonathan J. Hall
b. 3 Jul 1816, Ohio, USA
d. 12 Oct 1884, Oto, Woodbury County, Iowa, USA

Rachel Van Zant
b. 15 Mar 1815, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA
d. 8 Dec 1897, Oto, Woodbury County, Iowa, USA

They married 27 Aug 1835 in Cincinnati, Greene County, Ohio, USA

This information was taken from their gravestone on "Find a Grave"

As near as I can tell from Census records, they lived in Ohio until up to 1850 until an Iowa Census from 1856 shows them living in Knox, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, USA

Census records also show that Jonathan J. Hall's father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother in Virginia. The same record shows Rachel Van Zant's parents both being born in Pennsylvania.

There is one record that shows Jonathan J Hall as Jackson Hall with the same wife and children.

Even with all this information I have not been able to find the name of any parents here. Hopefully, at the very least, this information will help someone else out there in some way :)

An 1850 Federal Census shows Jonathan J. Hall, using the name Jackson Hall living in Indiana.
Have also recently found out that Jonathan J. Hall was the third child, having two older brothers.
