Weekly Bible Topic The gifts that Jesus gave us

By brose (brose) on June 8, 2010

A few scriptures that lots of us know, The whole basis of being Christian is really embodied in these few lines from John 14 I thought It was a good place to start.

John 14:6
" I am the way, the truth and, the life: no man cometh unto my Father, but by me"

John 14:12-13

12 Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth in me, the works that I do shall he do also: and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto my Father

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, That the Father may be glorified by the Son

I think these scriptures are important to read because they give use a good foundation for how we should live. To me they mean believe in Lord Jesus Christ and know he is the only way to be saved and go to heaven.

That we should strive to be like Jesus. All throughout the scriptures we hear of Jesus being a man of service to everyone, not only the Jewish or those who believed in him. A person who cared about his fellow man and lived to help and spread the word of God. I always remember a book I have had since I was very young Called "What Would Jesus do?", I have reread many times. Just think how nice of a world we would all live in if we just thought WWJD.

Finally we have the "Golden Ticket" if you will, our lord tells us to pray in his name. That through him may we be saved, through him our prayers may be heard, through him we have the gift of salvation.....Lets not waste that gift each and every night remember to say your sorry for all you have done, ask for forgiveness and then go on to ask for all you need.

I hope everyone has a blessed week.
