It's all about choices.
This is served as an appetizer in bars in Spain... it is a wonderful side dish, great potluck dish....easy.

Sautee a big mess of Swiss Chard ....mostly leaves....or steam them.

In a hot fry pan or wok, heat olive oil. Add garlic and cumin seeds (to can always add more), then add about a handfull of pine nuts (let them brown)...then add the Swiss Chard. Mix it all together...add Chickpeas = Garbanzo Beans and raisins.

Serve hot with crusty bread. This can be whatever you want it to be: a side dish to?, on rice? or all by itself with the bread.

Play with the garlic and the cumin....the flavors need to balance...and only YOU know what the balance it.... Whistling

OH, I once made this into a winter soup with chicken broth, slivers of chicken, tortilla strips (dried out and friend) and topped with slices of avocado and Moneterry Jack Cheese. Hot peppers optional Whistling

I've eaten something very similar to this before. It was yummy! Good simple trattoria food. Big Grin
