It's all about choices.
Calcium is unavailble to the plants if there is no magnesium...and that's why most complete ferts (like Dolomitic Limestone) has calcium and magnesium. Epsom Salts are a cheap form of magnesium.... But you don't want to add it unless you are lacking. I would call the County Extension Service (attached to a Land Grant Univrsity in your area) and ask about the soil in your area. If they are clueless, they can do an analysis. Really...you can have all the Calcium in the world but without magnesium, it's worthless.... You could probably Google the information...goodness knows you can Google just about anything.... Big Grin
