This area gets a lot of funding through Albany (capital of NY) in what is called 'Buffalo Billions'. I really don't know too much about it, except we get a lot of money for improvements of things.

Mary, I remember seeing those dry falls, and it was the first time I ever saw Niagara Falls, I think. You don't really appreciate the majesty of it all until you see it live.

I don't have any pictures at work. Sad

Hello I made it Hurray! Hurray!

I have missed you guys Group hug so much to catch up on.
It's been crazy here mom got pneumonia and ended up in hospital ICU for a week, then home on oxygen...she's doing fine now and almost off the oxygen completely.
Pool deck is falling apart (25-30 yrs old) so we are tearing it down and building a new one, Steve is putting a new floor in his mom's kitchen and fixing termite damage in his spare time . He helps a guy cutting trees ect 2 days a week and works for the village three days so he his pretty tired when he gets home.

Work at the DG store is still nuts, we go through people like underwear, but I told the manager I am too busy in the summer I am not working all those extra hours.
I still have my old people day job and my one lady just turned 101...speaking of which I missed Jean's Birthday Crying Happy Belated Birthday Jean.
Oh and my hoarder folks ( where I cleaned up the weeds) the wife passed away. Sad She was such a nice lady but had lots of medical problems.

My daylilys are starting to bloom and they need divided really bad so let me know if anyone wants any. I'll try to get some new pictures as they bloom right now its mainly stella, and june bug blooming but the rest all have buds. Hurray!
Same with the hostas they are huge.

I have to downsize can't keep up with them and can't tell where one starts and the other one ends anymore and of course little Jackson pulled all the tags helping me. Rolling my eyes.

OK I'll be back now that I found my way, but for now I must head to the pool store for supplies and to Home depot for a new drill for DH for fathers day...and we all know I won't get the right one. Shrug!

You all have a great day and Happy Father's Day to all the DH's.

Nice to meet you.

I just keep dividing them and then can't find anyone here that wants any so I find somewhere to plant them....can't bring myself to throw them in the burn pile but now I have way to much to take care of.

You're all welcome to all you want.

Thanks, I'll just enjoy your pictures. I tried growing one here, it fried in my dry heat. They do great on the wet side of the state.

The yard looks great JJ. Which clematis is that one?

Jim is supposed to talk to the tree guy to see what we can do with the live oak next to the driveway.....It may have to be heavily cut back or even taken down. If that happens, I will lose 70 to 80% of the shade here. Soon as I know for sure...he said it would be this week...I will let you know.

The last hosta is doing well, survived the nasty water and the weeds. Whistling Now I am glad I have the rest in containers, especially if the tree has to come down. They are all starting to bloom... Thumbs up

Hiya JJ! Nice yard! Thumbs up our flowers look great. I especially love the dianthus, but I am partial to them.

Moon, do you want the tree to stay?

Yes. It is a lovely live oak about 75 years old. Why folks would build within 30 ft of trees that can get that huge is beyond me. I agree, dianthus are special flowers. Smiling

Dianthus do well here, even living through -20 winters and our hot dry summers.

Afternoon all,

I'm cleaning like crazy and boy it needs it. Looks like I'm collecting dustbunnies and cobwebs. Rolling my eyes.

Kid left for camp this morning Hurray! won't recognize his room when he gets back Big Grin . Oh well he was warned if he didn't clean it I would. Whistling

It's about 76 outside with a big nice breeze, got sheets on the line and all the windows open wide, more like a spring day then summer and I'm enjoying every minute of it..... going out soon to clean the shed, the mice got in it this winter and chewed up my cushions. Grumbling Never had a mouse in there before and put everything up the same every year. Shrug! Guess I'm going to have to invest in more totes. or less junk.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Good morning!

I love cleaning when they're gone, JJ. Hilarious! I cleaned DD's room when she went to the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee this year. Not a full-on clean, after all - she's just about 24, but I picked up her room and vacuumed, cleaned all the pack-rat stuff out.

There's nothing like a line dried sheet, eh? I don't know what happened to our clothesline, I think gardening got in the way, in our small yard.

I agree on the dianthus, Moon. I have a couple here that take a licking & keep on ticking. What's the verdict on your oak tree? Is it sick? Why did you call a tree guy to begin with? Just curious..DH gave me a book for Christmas titled "The Hidden Life of Trees". I pick it up every now & then, it's really interesting.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Group hug

Welcome Vicki. Drop in anytime. Big Yellow Grin

Yesterday our heat index was 102*. Even though our temps are in the mid to high 80's, the humidity is just plain stupid-high. I hung a couple dry light blankets out to air in the sun....an hour later they were damp....everything has that slightly damp, kinda funky smell to it and the A/C has been running pretty much non-stop just to keep things drier inside.

JJ, Jim has been off all week...guess how much cleaning I got done? Thumbs down Kicker is that he goes back on nights M-T-Wed, so won't get a lot done during the day cleaning-wise, but I will be setting up estimate appts with roofers.

Smiley, the oak tree roots have erupted under the driveway and the flooding and now rains are causing washouts. We want to see if we can keep the tree and what kind of driveway material would be best to use. Worst case is the tree will have to be taken out. The thought of that kinda makes me sick. Asked Jim when the tree guy was coming....He hasn't heard back from him.... Blinking

Good Morning

It's 56 here right now, high yesterday was 72 with a cool breeze was almost chilly. Not very good pool weather. Angry
Think I might have to get the solar blanket back out weatherman says 70's all but two days this week and they are low 80's.
It's great being outside weather but chilly pool weather, at least for me.

Will try to get pics of the lilies blooming later.
Have a great day.
