I'm always amazed by the beauty of the season. They all have something to offer, and winter has a beauty of its own. The leaves have fallen from the trees, exposing the sky above, allowing the sun and moon shine in through the windows. I love the night sky on a clear night; when I can look up and see the stars shining across the universe, it's very humbling. December was rather warm but that soon changed when the arctic blast showed up on January ninth, along with a blanket of snow. It is a beautiful sight but not something we're used to living in the south! I've always wondered why more people don't build their house further back, away from the road........maybe so they wouldn't have to shovel so much snow off the driveway to get in and out! It's there under the snow-- ![]() The aeration system in the pond seems to be keeping the pond from freezing. We put it in to help clear the pond up, which it did an amazing job of, by the way. ![]() ![]() good enough to drink ![]() The dogs are having a blast playing in the snow ![]() ![]() There's lots of little birds flying about too... it is quite amazing that they are tolerant of such cold temps being such little creatures. I didn't have any wildbird seed but left them a little chicken scratch and they seem to appreciate it FAITH over fear! |
