Since I first moved to Ky and learned there was such a thing as morel mushrooms, I have wanted to find some and try them. I am not able to hike as much anymore so my searching has not been productive. I also had no idea what kind of area to look in or what trees to look under. But a friend's DH sent me some morels and he is going to take my friend (his DW) and me and show us where he gets them. I am going to take my camera for sure! I cannot believe my fortune. I am finally going Molly Mooching!!!

I ate some of my morels today. I sauted them in EVOO with some ham, basil, chives, garlic and lemon pepper. They are divine. I'm going to eat some more later.

I had the rest for supper fixed the same way. It was sooo good. I can't wait for the weather to clear so we can go hunting shrooms!

My friend tells me it is quite a steep climb to where the morels are so I may not be able to go after all. I am disappointed but am confident my friend's DH will bring me some more. He is a very nice guy. I am hoping he may know another spot I can get to that may have some.

I have never been a big mushroom fan but all I had ever eaten were either canned or those little button mushrooms from the produce section at Wally World. I am so glad I was willing to try the morels. They are wonderful. Now I am wondering how all the other varieties taste?

Here is my delicious mushroom dish.

We are having a wet winter. We need a wet, cool spring but not a washout, for a good mushroom season. Crossing my fingers.
