This is surely one of the best nurseries in our state and it serves people in other states too, thereby earning national acclaim for carrying such an intriguing and extensive assortment of plants at affordable prices and for packing the plants for shipping with such loving care that they seem to have just arrived from around the corner rather than possibly having traveled for days from the other side of the country.

Here's a link to Annie's Website:

And here's a link to the current availability list, which has a whopping 539 plants on it today:

Stephie, I say it every year, but here I go again: You have to come up here!!! Preferably in a car, so you can fill it with stuff from Annie's and everywhere else. Okay, make that a truck, or a trailer, or a moving van. Oh, heck, just move up here. One of the great things about Sonoma County is that our nurseries buy plants from Annie's at wholesale prices and add just a small markup, so I can go to a local nursery and buy the annuals for $1.99-2.99 and the perennials for $3.99. Of course, they have to buy them by the flat, so they don't carry the rare wonders that might not sell in large quantities, and I still have to go to Annie's for those.

Look how crazy healthy this nicotiana is. Its over taking my memorial day...

I know zuzu, I would love to, but because Higgins depends on me for so much, I will not be doing much traveling for the rest of his bulldog years.... I just love him more than anything.... Poor guy, I have to carry him back to the car half the time. My brother says it looks like im carrying a giant sausage.. lol

SF Chronicle is having their annual voting contest for 'best of' and I just received an email from Regans asking that we go vote Big Grin

here is a link if anyone would like to give Regans a vote http://baylist.sfgate.com/search?q=nurseries&contest=4766&ac...

Annies Annuals is also in the voting for nurseries and your only allowed to vote for one of them so have to really pick your favorite Hilarious!

Regan asked for my vote too, but this is a tough one. I think I might like East Bay Nursery more than any of the others on the list.

lol, yes it is really hard to decide....but I have to go with Regans...partly because they have helped me so much and mainly because I buy my 'Annies Annuals' there, so havent been to the real Annies yet Hilarious!

Lali and I (and maybe Sue) will be at Annie's this Thursday morning (April 29th). If anyone lives close enough, come out and meet us. We'll be the loud ones.

As it turned out, I didn't even go. I threw my back out several days earlier and was almost back to normal, but the ride to Annie's would have killed me. Sitting immobile for more than an hour would have made me lock up, and the pain of unwinding from that is unbearable. So maybe Sue, Lali, you, and I can all meet there next time.

I was at Annie's last week. Managed to limit myself to 1 flat, and I have everything planted but the succulents!

Sherry, I still owe you white 4-o-clock seeds (my envelope vanished) so I don't want to make any MORE promises to you that I might break!!! Besides, I think I can find enough to do at my place to keep me busy. But thanks for thinking of me...LOL!

It's that awful time of year when it's too hot to plant things in the ground, but they're really suffering in the pots. What to do, what to do...?

pigeon...I got some more white 4 o'clocks...no sweat.
Yeah, It's still not bad down here, but I think the only things I'll be putting in the ground now are going in the shade and everything else will get bumped into 2 gal pots for the duration..this happens to me every year and I've been working so hard at it...rats.

Looks like a nursery over here, with all kinds of 1 and 5 gal pots scattered around to grow out those 4" plants.
