| Maybe other communities already have this and we're late in arriving at this idea, but we now have a local buying co-op. Merchants in the area (Sebastopol, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, and points nearby) will give a 10% discount to anyone with a GoLocal card. The card only costs $25 for a year, so I just joined. It's only on the ground floor, but some of my favorite grocery stores, fruit stands, nurseries, galleries, hardware stores, and gift shops are already listed in the directory. I'm sure to recoup the $25 in just the first week or two. This is a cause I can support wholeheartedly. I've already been trying to spend my money mostly at local stores to keep them afloat. |

| Yes, that's where I heard about it. Emerisa and Harmony are already on board, and Andy's fruit stand (the one on the way to Harmony) and Oliver's (that wonderful grocery store where we bought sandwiches for lunch once) are on there. This is going to be great. You'll have to get a card when you move, or even before in view of the amount of shopping you do here. The hardware store in town is on there too. |
